Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Micromanagement

I can no longer bear the pressure and the conditions under which I work.
Why all this micromanagement?
Is the manager's goal to get the best out of employees or to destroy every motivation for them to make an effort?
Does anyone work harder and better under greater micromanagement? I doubt it.

micro management is to make work for low/mid level managers. Some of them take it to the extreme with even questioning why do you leave your desk. (like breaks and lunches are not a thing) eyes in the sky, buddy system on your pc logging every move you make. for the Whiny baby remark above, you claim the site gets worse but wouldn't that be a direct response to the treatment? if the workplace/environment was great then there wouldn't be the posts that there are. what is this company offering now as an incentive?
Pension? no Loyalty? no Pay? iffy Insane workload? yes expectation to work over 40 hours? Yes --- in short Fiserv will let you know about being laid off and walk you out immediately, then say you need a 2 week notice for work turnover. obviously based on the company precedent this is not the case.

The hysteria and hyperbole on this forum is becoming more and more ridiculous by the day. Worse than prison. Ooooookaaaayyyyy.

Its not "literally a prison".

Prisons have better food, gyms, outdoor time, and less stress.

They have to micromanage. The only alternative is macro-management. And this company doesn't have a general strategy.

There can be a number of reasons for micromanagement. Employees not doing their job. Mgr is insecure. Mgr is an-l retentive. Poor mgmt skills. Mgr thinks they are better and showing you the right way. The list goes on but basically the mgr can't see the forest through the trees and every tree gets ground down to a toothpick.

I left in February after 25+ years. What a sh*t show that company has turned into. My mental health was affected. Get out of that prison (literally a prison) when you can.
