Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

They don't care that we are understaffed

Not only is there no understanding for the fact that we are understaffed, but expectations are higher than ever. I can't take it anymore. How long do they think that one person can do the work for several people?

I would LOVE it if they RIF'd me. I plan on retiring within 2 years anyways & I started working at Fiserv pre-ITI days, pre-checkfree days and pre-WhateverTF you call these days! We all thought it was bad when Checkfree was 'bought' by Fiserv but FB & Co. showed us old-timers the true meaning of the word!

At what point did you think this MC team cared? Work just keeps piling up in all of Banking and across all functions. We can’t get anything done. Clients want to deconvert or threatening to go to RFP because of it.

We got one more big RIF before the dried gum that’s been holding this house of cards for two plus years crumbles apart.

I’m not in a hurry to leave. I’m actually interested in watching the building burn from the inside before I bounce but maybe I’m a pyro though. Plus, I’ll gladly take the consulting fee when this ends up as a business case in schools on wtf not to do 10-15 years from now.

So slow down and don't get it all done. Do enough to stay employed, but not a moment more.

What are they going to do, lay you off too? At least you'll get a severance when they do.

They will keep cutting until they hurt themselves. Stop trying to keep the company safe and allow them to hurt themselves.

I know the feeling. They RIF'd people in my area and then just dumped more things on me to do. I'm basically doing a couple different positions for the same salary. It's awful and looking to get out of this mess.

They will keep trying to squeeze blood from a stone to make numbers. That is how they operate now. I hated leaving an already understaffed group due to the impact it had on the good people that were left, but they really leave you no choice.

Maybe if you worked 7 days a week this wouldn’t be an issue.
All jokes aside I couldn’t agree more. Projects in my dept are being placed on hold or extended past contracted delivery dates and managers are upset that we are not delivering on time. Ridiculous. It could all be so simple. Fire napoleon!
