They're lowballing ALL the offers as far as I can tell from the few people I've chatted with. They seem to be REALLY as low as 50 cents on the dollar based on Ontario common law. I have to think that they're incentivized to not give equitable settlements and to use a strategy to drag them out as long as possible.
Such a great company to have worked for....not.
They have outsourced the layoffs...and truly joined the dark side as they commoditize/depersonalize labor and increasingly dehumanize their own workers with this sort of treatment. The sad thing is that it's becoming more and more common.
