Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle Has a Bad Culture Reputation

Told a new colleague today I came from Oracle. Their first response: “Isn’t that company’s culture pretty bad?”

Really couldn’t disagree. I feel for all of you going through it there, especially with massive layoffs likely first of fiscal.

Hold on tight…

There are 140k employees globally. Like all companies this size, you will have teams/ organizations with a strong, great culture and others that don’t.

Liars and cheaters can’t stand truth.
Yet truth will reveal itself when we least expect it. Eventually it all catches up.
We get back, what we give.
If you want good things then.do what is right. Taking from others, harms a lot of people. All people are created equal. You think you are better than those that you’ve hurt and that you have a right to take anything you want. Life doesn’t work that way. You break the law, you pay the consequences Consider yourself lucky you will get to learn what’s important and what’s not.
It’s your turn to reap what you’ve sown.

I worked in a great Organization when I was at 0. From the Senior Director on down. Of course I saw first hand how horribly toxic some orgs were. It couldn't last and the powers that be end up making the entire org sleep with the fishes. The culture at 0 is a virtual Love Canal, but there were areas that were very positive and productive. I would guess those benign orgs are getting fewer and more rare by the day,

Patents are once in a lifeline usually
Many never get there
Yet he is listed ascan inventor multiple times during the time period of his promotion
Huge red flag
Nothing in. the 13 years before and nothing since 2018.

I don’t him but I’ve heard he is fraud in his personal life, too. Was told that he uses mind control to manipulate and buys people to do what he wants with personal lavish dinners several times a week through his expense account. They’ll be reading about him soon

Somebody said that he’s lost every account he’s ever had . The army and others. I don’t understand why there is no accountability for people like him at Otacke.. perfect example of Oracle ‘s many failures.

Agreed he is a liar and a cheater.
He will get what he deserves.
If you don’t want to do time then don’t do the crime. The rules, regs, & law sre for everyone. He thinks he can hide behind Oracle …. And get away with everything.., but what he did, he did …Oracle didn’t do it…. And he’s done a lot more harm to Oracle they are not going to shoot whrn they find out everything….
since he lied and cheated to get the promotion so he could take advantage of more people, they believe a word his days.
Not only is not qualified for his position he’s not mature enough to handle the responsibility. He’s taken care of himself and used and abused oracle has he has everyone else.
The last 5 years he has taken from others.
He made his choices. The law applies to all for our protection. Oracle did nothing wrong in this case …he cheated himself, others and oracle. Those that were harmed deserve justice.
There are those that can and are willing to stand up for what is right & be the voice for those that can’t. He has no idea what’s ahead for him.

It’s going to be made known that he will tell anything he can ion others to save himself but they won’t believe a word he says. I want them to investigate his expenses. I’m sure he’s probably run alot of his personal travel & entertainment through oracle. He’ll well know throughout the industry. Oracle will treat him like he treats employees.

He is liar. He orchestrated his scheme coerced 2 others to do his dirty work and he already had the work. He wanted to make sure initial application wax apidived. He set them up
to fall if they got caught… apparently he lied to legal about the original inventor… they will not be happy with him…, he’s a con artist, he dangerous and needs to be taken out of society for many years. .., it believed that he possibly blackmailed the manager and his girlfriend. He did not have the skill set but the girlfriend did .., she copied the code except for a small section on n one paragraph. He’s a cook he treated this like a recipe that the smallest revision it becomes your work but he didn’t do any of it - Patents are about ideas… copyright laws are different I don’t guess he understands..,

Several people have followed his trail to Justia. Time frame, TK’s org (TK that is no longer at oracle not the present. Time line is key. He was at oracle for 13 years and did d nothing noteworthy u and in the same time promoted his listed as inventor on 2 patents and a publication. Subset of the first patent. He had the other managers girlfriend file
The first patent.
He’s on a 3rd patent with the managers girlfriend, with others in different countries that I doubt they even know that their name was listed as an inventor.
Whhen this first came out - he said this years ago.., and someone responded there is no statute of limitations fir fraud. He scolded them for misspelling statute. He can’t help himself he’s too busy looking to put others down to deflect from his wrong doing. He’s uses mind control and his expense reost to control and buy others.

Hopefully the two employees that he coerced will allowed to make a deal and come forward and tell givt what he did. And they won’t be charged …because they are victims of his and would probably wouid not have done what they did -it’s believed that he threatened them.

It will be interesting.
He has done more harm to Oracle than probably anyone else in its history.

He will have to learn the hard way that he needs to be respectful of others. Where’s he’s going they will teach him that people/employees are not commodities. He’ll probably wish he was a commodity and could be sold before it’s over.

It’s embarrassing to head all of the stuff about how corrupt muffle mgmt is. The VP that took work from someone and destroyed while got promoted and has milked Oracle for everything he can is repulsive. There’s a long list of people that wsnt to see him in prison and they are not going to stop until he’s sentenced. He uses shareholders holders money for pets in use. Fire employees to get a bonus. He’s an evil person.

  • He’s a liar and a cheater. .

"Oracle Has a Bad Culture Reputation"

I would have just left it at: "Oracle Has a Bad Culture"

That's a true statement in my opinion.

I was on an excellent team with good management and good partnership with the teams I supported prior to my RIF in April. There’s certainly some cultural quarks, but everywhere has those, some less bothersome than others.

I do expect a cultural shift after this big series of RIFs and consolidations, not for the better.

No longer my problem and unlikely I’ll return.

Oracle universally known to be exactly what it is.
Your new colleague was being polite. As time goes on, you'll find out from others in the industry how screwed-up how Oracle is,

Yesterday's. article in insider mentioned by LE that, Oracle's plans to us AI to improve Oracle's product. You'd think improvements would have been made. If you have Product Development in your title, I'd be working on my resume - you can't compete with AI. But if you are a manager, forget it -- nobody wants Oracle's middle management out there -- maybe at a carwash if, your lucky. Article also stated that they are thinking about developing their on AI to sell to cloud customers. Purpose of Article was to annouced that Oracle and MicroSoft have agreed to rent servers from each other if either company runs out of computing power for cloud customers that use large scale AI.

Congratulations on you new job. Perfect timing.

I dunno if I would agree that its based on the team. While sure there are some colleagues that wont let each other drown, but for each of them there are atleast 3 under-performers with a "I just keep my head down" mindset. If you are in a customer facing role, those people end up making BS promises to customers and handing the work over to someone else (ideally a JR) to take the blame off of themselves.

This mindset is rampant. There are so many interdependent systems and processes that no one ever bothers to mention. My entire time at oracle felt like people were purposely withholding necessary information from me and its the kind of stuff that eats you up alive. Within the netsuite organization it was playing hot potato with cases. People would half A-s work and then just pass it along. I quickly went from Eager to... get me the F out of here. Often working 10 hour days just trying to keep up with the work load. Far too many tenured employees know the game and how to cheat the system. If you are passionate about your career there is no better place than to burn out at Oracle.

Our culture in one side of the business is great. We help each other out through team work all the time…O is huge. Maybe your team sucked but that doesn’t apply to all.
