Most of them are completely unnecessary in my opinion.

It’s all about Believership
So many mid management because the upper management doesn't want to have to deal with all the employee drama, mid-year and end-of year reviews.
The PURPOSE of so many middle managers is to remind you of your PURPOSE and help you find your individual PURPOSE!
Middle managers at Truist are usually just PowerPoint Princesses and Excel Eddies.
They give good manuals in private meetings though.
WSJ article. You “Teammates” are pitiful. Know your role and get back to work! You make me sick with constant bi--hing.

When I worked there, my "manager" had the grueling job of managing 3 technical people. She herself could barely operate a web browser. As far as I can tell, all she did was forward all her emails to us at 9am each morning with three words of instruction: "Team, please handle." Then she was unreachable for the remainder of the day. She would never meet or talk to us individually, we were just "Team" to her. Also, she routinely reminded us that we were not to contact her outside of business hours, ever, no matter what. Not we could even contact her during regular business hours! She's still there, doing the same thing, last I heard.
Someone posted this in a previous thread. Lot of truth here. In SunTruist parlance what is the “PURPOSE” of all this management. Some of these people have 4 direct reports.
This little big bank has enough team leads, managers of, heads of and executive vp’s that cutting half of them would be at least a 10 percent reduction. Never seen so damn much unnecessary middle management that couldn’t manage a hot dog cart. The only thing the majority are good at is saying whatever they think their boss wants to hear. They are for the most part truly worthless.
