I quit my position recently and was given an offer to stay back. I am however not convinced that there is any growth for the Hyperion Products especially with competition from Anaplan and One Stream. I have decided to move on and not accept the revised offer. Am I doing a mistake…

Oh my god,
Really?
You need to move on from Oracle.
Oh I remember working on Hyperion products 20 years ago, eliminating memory leaks. Codebase was ancient. I thought it was long dead frankly.
Listen to the posters. Don't look back. You made a decision to look for a reason. Don't loose sight of that reason. Going back seldom works out.
If you accept a counter offer, and stay, you are marked as being disloyal. Your career is finished. Better to go!
Never accept an internal counter offer when you have a good external offer on the table. If this company had valued you in the first place then they would have been paying you better all along. Take the new company's offer and may it enhance your career and mental health.
Is there any future for Hyperion Products
You're kidding, right? There hasn't been any future for Hyperion products since Oracle acquired them. That's the most basic aspect of Oracle's business model:
The ABCs of Oracle:
A. Acquisition with the sole intention of milking the support stream
B. Slowly but surely choke off development and support
- Discard the desiccated carcass
Rinse and repeat
Isnt Netsuite NSPB based off hyperion? I think thats probably the future.
After being at oracle for close to 15 years, i moved out 2 years ago. The only regret i have is that i did not move 8 years ago.
The new place is less toxic and pays pretty well both on salary and RSUs .
Did not have a future five years ago!
