Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

VZB Layoffs

I saw something that I wasn’t supposed to and saw a riff plan for the year. This is for one of the groups under business specifically. I saw the notification date as 5-24 and final date as 7-1. After this riff, there are no more planned for the year.

Even if this is the "last riff" for this year, it's just a matter of time before the rest of VZW is outsourced. Now is the time to stand together before any more of us are out on our ears!

Can you share which segment of VBG?

Hey guys! I’m sorry to leave you hanging. I work in an area under VBG and I work under the strategy umbrella. Because of that I work on a lot of long term work to understand where the business is going.

I was tagged into a presentation by a senior leader to work on a specific slide. I don’t think this leader realized what other content was in the deck. I of course looked at other slides and found the said slide with the layoff timeline.

I also looked at the calendar of my immediate boss, my senior leader, and HR. They all have 25 minute blocks on the 24th that overlap. Seems too coincidental to me.

so many experienced leaders leaving that it has the look that cutting from the top ranks will lead to more understanding when it comes to the bottom ranks bye Krista we really liked you coming to town a month ago now we little people all wait our turns on 5/24

R2b and b2b have a lot of fat to trim.

I see a q3 reduction based on the first half results.

If I am a MP, SM, or R2b rep I should be worried. If I am in the bottom 30% in my area I should redo my resume.

Retail to Business is super redundant and does virtually nothing to grow the business. Most in that channel are getting comped for what store reps are doing, which they’ll do without that person being in store. Stores can send leads directly to B2B to work and in the end the customer has a much better experience.

5/4 would make more sense. Last year 2nd quarter notifications happened the week after Q1 results were released.

If you aren't suppose to be privy to this information in the first place, how do you know there are no more planned for the year? Smells like b.s. to me.
