Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Was told I shold expect to get laid off soon. Do all employees get severance?

Currently doing some financial planning and have seen that the current severance package is four weeks for your first year, and then one week for each additional year after your first. Should I count on receiving this? If you take the severance are you also eligible to receive unemployment?

Thank you

In a RIF, it’s likely your direct manager who delivers the news won’t know until the night before. At least that’s how my recent RIF went.

In most cases yes but in your case definitely not.

Yes you can claim unemployment unless you quit.

A total lie. No manager will give you a heads-up that you’re about to be RIFd. They would be jeopardizing their own job if they did it.

Sounds like a troll just trying to get information.

If you knew you might go to a doctor and get a mental medical leave.

No one gets told that lest the employee should get an injunction from the court.
