Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Recruiting issue and wait times

How many of you have been looking for a new internal job? Are you waiting a long time for recruiters to reach out? I have not had luck in years since covid. When is it time to cut and run from an application, 2-3 weeks? I assume by that time recruiters have an idea of who to phone screen. And why do they ignore internal candidates so awfully? I prefer not to leave open applications for months.

Weeks and sometimes months only to be rejected. I was just rejected today for a role where I fit all criteria, and I didn’t get so much as an interview. I’m more curious why, but I’m guessing they either had someone specific in mind or they aren’t actually hiring. Guess I’ll hunker down and accept that RCSA will be my life until I get another role externally.

I tell people this all the time not to dissuade them but to be honest. You’re not getting an internal promotion unless you know someone. The cold interview process vs a referral is night and day.

Sc--w Wells Fargo. Your severance package has all the BS stating they encourage you to apply for other positions. You will never get another job. You are a fly on the wall that they would rather squash.

Yep if you’ve been displaced you’re in trouble. You better know the hiring manager or you’ll never get another position.

I was displaced and they encourage people to keep applying. They give no help in trying to help you get a new position. The posting and recruiters are cr-p here

Do not apply internally. If you want a different job to pursue a career path, only apply externally. Hoping to move your career forward internally is a waste of time.

In many areas, the delay isn’t recruitings fault. What is happening is the business units are pausing any offers for 30-90 days as a way to cut their budget forecasts.

6 months was the longest I waited. They kept adding steps/interviews. It's inhumane. You lose enthusiasm for the job. Never again. Start a business.
