Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Go Woke and we are getting BROKEN see below stinky's email

seems like this company is not looking for talents..

To: All AT&T employees
In order to connect all people to greater possibility, it’s important that the diversity of our employees reflect the diversity of our communities and customers. That means taking a close look at our workforce demographics on a regular basis and remaining focused on driving representation throughout all employee levels.
Over the past 3 years, we’ve committed to a more open dialogue and addressing existing inequities inside and outside of AT&T. While progress doesn’t happen overnight, we’re making encouraging headway.
Looking at 2022 results across our U.S. employee base, we saw improvement in notable areas, and like past years, identified areas of opportunity where we can improve. A few wins include:
Hiring
• More than 75% of open positions were filled by talent from historically underrepresented communities compared with 2021.
• External hires of women increased 10%.
• We increased representation of Asian American and Pacific Islander talent within our new hires by 6%.
Promotions
• 69% of internal promotions were filled by talent from historically underrepresented communities representing a year-over-year increase of 5%.
• We saw an 11% increase in promotions of women at the senior leader level.
• Black talent representation of promotions increased 7%.
We also increased our percentage of representation across LGBTQ+, individuals with disabilities and veterans in 2022.
While it’s reassuring to see progress, we still have work to do. For example, at the senior leader level, our Hispanic/Latino talent declined 14%, and Black talent remained flat. GM level for Hispanic/Latino talent also remains flat.
We should always strive for AT&T to be a “big tent” where all backgrounds, ethnicities, identities, and points of view are welcome – and for everyone to feel like they can be their best and authentic selves at work and do it in a manner that allows AT&T to achieve its Purpose.
Part of how we’ll do that and continue to build momentum year over year is ensuring we stay focused on how we drive change. Our Chief Diversity Officer, Michelle Jordan, is working with leadership in each business unit to understand and address their unique needs and challenges and develop contextualized action plans.
Michelle recently sat down with Jeremy Legg and Jen Robertson to discuss our results and our efforts to make progress, including establishing new DE&I focus areas. I encourage you to watch it here.
To read more about our 2022 workforce demographic results, visit our DE&I website, which includes details on how diversity, equity and inclusion are shaping our business.
Let’s continue working together to inspire inclusivity and connect people – all people – to greater possibility.
Thank you,

I can't understand why people come on here and politicize their opinions about the company! Are they not aware of what happened to Anheuser Busch, its revenues are down 17% as a result of going woke! It's not about social engineering, it's about the bottom line, profits and stock performance. Right now, those metrics are not doing too well and will get worse before they start getting better! I don't care if you're a Lunatic Leftist or a Maga Right extremist! This company is faltering on the brink of being broken up and sold off piece by piece.

DEI doesn’t matter because the company does not enforce the COBC on racist employees!!!

I was a little shocked to learn that TCPs were already processed this year when mine is still pending and I've busted my a-s for thirteen years. I guess maybe my skin isn't the right color.

Nice to see the company is finally hiring in the unrepresented Appalachian Mountains area. Those poor white mountain folks haven’t had a lot of opportunities since the coal mines closed a couple presidents ago. One of if not the poorest areas in the nation.

Trying to understand your logic. So because one small group of execs is slightly over representative of US demographics means the rest of the employees (numbering in the 10’s of thousands) are supposed to be discriminated against and it’s ok? There was a war in this country for that and more, it’s wrong for any race and s-x to be discriminated against. The email speaks for itself and any fair minded human should interpret it as just wrong.

Successful businesses usually operate on merit probably why the exec group is slightly over represented. Any other version than merit is a recipe for failure. I’m not excusing the current CEO and execs because there differently needs to be a change of leadership, they have failed on a scale never seen before.

“this article is being gaslight by a hater. facts are 90 percent of c-suite and management are still white men. so i dont see what all the fuss is about.”
Have you ever heard of an ivory tower liberal? It’s rules for thee, not for me. They sit on high and virtue signal, all the while sending their kids to the all white rich private school. Of course they aren’t going to put someone they feel is under qualified in one of those key spots, maybe a token person just to say see, we aren’t racist in sim bs role. I can’t believe how condescending this would be to me if I was in an “underrepresented demographic.” what a load of cr-p, they are basically saying you aren’t as good as these other people, so we have to have HR create quotas. But that’s ok right. Nah that’s not condescending at all. Not to mention discriminatory against other groups.

I'm certain none of you fellas on this board have a clue about ATT's legal entities nor a dime to 'hire' an attorney to file a suit against ATT....But I'm here for the entertainment only. Keep going! Hilarious!

Remember that ATT and Verizon are ostensibly branches of the governments of about 30 countries. They are not businesses in the conventional sense but more like the British or Dutch East India companies. They both function as tools of globalist policy therefore it doesn’t matter if they are poorly managed.

“If this policy of ATT's 'wokeness', 'diversity', 'cultural' whatever.... is so offensive and disturbing to your sensibilities, do the only thing a righteous, upstanding, patriot would do, quit. Stand up for your rights as a employee..quit. Please.”

Done. Just filed my EEO complaint and contacted an attorney. ATT is already being sued by quite a few folks

wow WTH - if you are a white male the writing is on the wall. man if I received that from my company I would be looking and quit as soon as possible regardless of my skin.

if you are a women or colored how do you know you got promoted for your talent. I would be pi---d if I were them.

glad I left this cesspool and work for a company that actually promotes on skill not to fit a quota.

was at att 17 years and got one promotion and I have gotten two since I left. I guess I know why now. I always thought I called a spade a spade and didn't beat around the bush.

I thank the company for finally being honest about what we have been observing anecdotally for the last few years. If you don't have the right amount of pigment in your skin or you sleep with the wrong protected class, you have a 31% chance of getting promoted. So, why go above and beyond? Why do more than the minimum? When you deny opportunity despite merit it is a quick drop to the middle. Then it becomes a race to the bottom when the productive leave. And finally it becomes fighting over the dead bones. Good luck.

Stankey, Pascal, McElfresh, etc need to be taken to task.....they have destroyed shareholder value for the past 10-15 years, they lost billions on ill-advised acquisitions, they took on debt levels that cripple this compnay..... how does a company have more debt than market value????? Stankey and co are doubling down on Fiber and Mobility...these are commodity businesses...Questions for the top of the house...how is AT&T Fiber better than the competition? How is AT&T Mobility / 5G better than the competition....if you can't answer those questions you are a commodity and will have to compete on price...which means continuing layoffs and cuts....The company needs leadership that can grow revenues profitably......it doesn't take much of a brain to cut costs....The AT&T Board is complicit here as well....they need to step up and demand results...

This is a part of the reason AT&T is going down the toilet: bad leadership from Stankey and hiring/promoting based on diversity instead of meritocracy. Affirmative action has been a failure for the last 50 years for blacks by hiring and promoting the unqualified because of skin color. It's bad for the unqualified employee, for those that work with them, for those of the same racial category and for the overall company

This has quantifiable data showing multi-year discriminatory practices, they aren’t hiring or promoting based on demographics because the numbers are very skewed compared to the US population. Probably targeting with the same metrics for Layoffs.

Take this to the BANK folks. Go into your career path portal and take a video of all your nominations. Get yourself a lawyer and let the data do the talking. Did you get a call back from your nomination? Did you get an interview? Were you hired?

EEO, Dept. of Labor & Justice complaints need to be filed to look into their hiring, promoting and surplussing practices.

Save at&t a quarter of a million dollars per year. Eliminate the Chief Diversity Officer position. What exactly does Michelle Jordan do eight hours every day? Shouldn't this be a contractor position? Talk about a waste of cold hard cash.

Discrimination is discrimination, plan and simple. Stankey thinks he can get away with discriminating against a certain segment of the population in order to right any wrongs of the past. As long as we are stuck with Stankey this company will continue to crumble.

The Bottom Line does not care about Demographics. The Debt does not care about Demographics. ATT is #3 and falling for a reason. Change the name and get rid of Stankey.

So much for merit, AT&T is in the cultural business. Only hiring based on race, s-x and se-ual orientation and proud of being discriminatory to a majority. Hmm… Isn’t there a law against that?
