Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Why are directors being moved without a req

I recently noticed RC was moved under Ashish and there was no open req created for the same. There was a open requisition created a while ago but was told that they had cancelled the hiring for that position. Why do we not see opportunities being opened up for people to apply for the open positions and grow. I also see people from development being given opportunities to grow on the pretex is shift left and people in support are neglected. Is there no career development path for people in support . It’s really a sad state of affairs for people in customer support.

I agree with the previous comment . The place has become toxic . I hope MS and his associates are shown the door soon .

MS has done a lot of wrong promotions. He brought in his friends from Cisco and PANW and created special positions here for them . The entire MS org is toxic !!! I am trying my best to get out of here ! Hopefully I’ll be able to land a decent enough offer

“Why does support even exist anymore ?“

Because developers can never write code without bugs ! simple !

But some like you live in the perfect world and can’t understand other functions of business .

The problem with the world is most people think only their own job function is important and everyone else is irrelevant. Every job has its own relevance and they will continue to exist irrespective of what some of these ignorant posters here think !!

Is there a peer to peer community where customers help each other to resolve the issues and support engineers will get redundant.

Why does support even exist anymore ? Customers may soon find chatGPt can actually resolve their issues more accurately and faster than so called support engineers who are so clueless and actually cause more harm than help. I feel sorry for the customers who are supported by people who have no support from O.

“ Support engineer with no hike no promotion for almost 10 years.”
You realize that you are dream employee, correct? Giving and asking for nothing in return. Now do you see why O disrespects its people in this way? Answer is because people LET THEM!

Very, very true. Sorry, but the doormat principle applies, even though many are unaware of their own complacency.

Support engineer with no hike no promotion for almost 10 years. Directors, VPs and MS are all part of the play ignoring the hard working engineers in support. Only mgr or dir favourites gets something once in 3 years. Stay away from the support org.
