Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Why don't people leaders at VP+ want to go into offices?

They set a poor example for everyone else. What's wrong with long commutes and having a wrench thrown into work life balance? Having to zoom, slack, and using Google docs, sheets, and slides to collaborate with those in different time zones is required.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn’t take a pay cut. To do that would be a disservice to myself based on my throughput and the endless hours I put in to solve real problems.

My take is that attrition numbers are down, some will choose to jump ship. If space limitations rise in office, that’s a valid reason to bring up with your leadership. I know my productivity will take a hit simply because I’ll be sitting in traffic - if RTO means lower velocity then that’s a business decision outside my pay grade.

So next week when a rush of people go into offices I'll bet the offices will have a sewage overflow because those pipes haven't been stressed tested for 3 years.

Because they're above that, they're entitled and think they don't have to!

I'd prefer to have a 10% pay cut then work remote.
