3 per week lately (including PTO) but rarely for more than half a day, and sometimes for not even an hour. No one has said anything to me yet about time. There is no enterprise-wide guidance on this other than we are expected to “be in office 3 days per week.” Neither my LOB nor my manager have communicated to me any more specific requirements beyond needing an average of 3 badge swipes/network connections/PTO taken per week. If I’m told I need to be here a certain amount of time, then I will comply with that, but until then I don’t know how they can do spect me to conform to a policy that’s never been communicated. Retroactive discipline for non-compliance with a rule that hadn’t been created yet would be absurd and of debatable legality.

Yes, the failure of upper management to fight harder for their people has not gone unnoticed. There are thousands of employees where it makes no sense to drive to a building with no one else in their group to collaborate by phone/email/Skype/zoom. This is one reason why so many people have checked out. Execs don't give an S and neither does upper management, but the plebes are supposed to? Doesn't work like that. Those in the ivory tower think that they can dictate how people feel and respond to poor policy decisions and they couldn't be more wrong.

In tech. My management chain up through two levels below Saul was against RTO since everyone had been WFH prior.

Saul was handing out exceptions to anyone who would just ask. Shortly after the exceptions were approved, in one of his town halls, he said that only Agile teams would have to come in from time to time for meetings like ceremonies. Then someone else had to have stepped in and overruled him as that was shortly changed and he had to backpedal.

Which business group? My business group wasn't willing to go to the OC for exceptions for the people who had prior WFH agreements.

Work is so boring. In reality, it’s good to link up in person with coworkers every 2-4 weeks. As an engineer, you mostly code and do L2/3 support. No need to be in a seat for 3 days a week.

Yes I’ll do it to keep my paycheck. But if a better opportunity comes along, they’ve lost me for little rhyme or reason.

3 here. I'm under no illusions that every penny of bonus I am "saving" by going in is being wasted on gas, and for no reason. I don't work with anyone in my building and don't care what they are doing, just like they don't care what I'm doing. Been doing this for 14 months now and have collaborated in person exactly zero times. FRTO and F Hudson Yards. We need to fire every clown in that building, and anyone in Charlotte that has been supporting this nonsense as well.

3 days a week (counting pto) exactly. You get what you demand. I am in a business line that I know will be using this data as part of bonus decisioning, so I’m not going to give them a reason to lower my compensation.

My whole small team is collocated in the same row of seats, and everyone in my larger group that is within our city is on the same half of the floor I am on, so we do actually have in person meetings at least one or two days a week.

I think I'm 13 for 15 weeks this year where I've been in 3 days. Definitely hate it....but when I come in I usually stay for the day. Not because I like the office, but because I just generally get too busy to leave midday.
Man I hate RTO though....don't mind reporting to work, but theres just no faw-keeng point when I haven't had an in-person office meeting since early 2020.

3 days each week. I make company pay for commute. I leave house at 9:45 and drive home between 2 and 4 depending on meetings. Then log off around 5:30. I’m always behind in my work but mostly because no one knows how to do their job and interrupt me with questions or add me to meetings for projects that aren’t mine

CIB here … started back in office March 2022, 3 days a week. Arrive around 0730, leave at noon. Boss doesn’t care as long as I get 3 swipes a week. Collaborate with no one, an utter and complete waste of time. Almost no one in office for months after I started, began picking up last summer and then more in the fall. Building now is fairly full.

Yes there are thousands that aren't going in. But don't think the company is going to roll over. They're about to come out with something to punish those.

2 days a week consistently. I include PTO/Holidays as days in the office. I get at least 6 hours in the office before commuting home and logging back in. I like teams mobile for the commute.

I’ve heard there are thousands of people that have never been back into the office since RTO started. It’s gonna be interesting now with the new 3 day rule.

Who even cares anymore. F these MFers and their stupid ideas. I've stopped listening to anything they say. Don't read the emails, don't attend the time-wasting calls. I encourage it, you'll be happier. This joke of an exec team will move on in another year or two. Nothing they say really matters anyway.

Have been doing 3/2, 7+ hours. I count PTO and holidays as days in the office. Was told that a day in the office doesn't count if under 7. Another manager said 6. Not sure what the real number is.

As if today we have been informed that this has been increased to 3 days/week. Not sure of this is where it ends or we will see 4 soon.

2/3. I heard you have to be in 4 hours for it to count so I set my timer for 4 hours and head off when it buzzes.
My time in office is like a bad sitcom. Tons of calls with other people in other offices saying “can you hear me now? Wait, do I mute the laptop or the speaker phone?” Or people who are in the same office but just stay in their cubicle for calls since they are back to back and don’t have time to get up for a face to face. I’m about 60% as productive as at home.

2 days a week average since 1 March using badge swipes + PTO.
1 day a week average since 1 March using badge swipes alone.
0 days a week from next week on because I just don't care anymore and am physically unable to comply.

None of those RTO days are 8hrs though, in office 4 then WFH 4. I also heard some interesting changes today on how they are tracking RTO go forward so my avg may not be remotely correct based on the new standard. Also heard that 3 days a week straight (no 2/3) is the new norm but "wait until we make it official."

I expect to be spoken to and/or disciplined and/or let go because of this.

My previous here manager is a dinosaur boomer that has been in office every day even during Covid. Whole team has been back in the office 3 days per week for over a year. Think he gets a kick out of other’s misery. This is exactly the kind of backwards thinking that causes companies to go extinct.
