Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

For them, unfortunately, we are all replaceable

This place drains my energy. I am tired beyond words. Still, I'm trying to do the best I can because I haven't found a new opportunity yet, although lately I've been thinking about accepting a maybe even worse paid job just to leave as soon as possible and thus preserve my health. The amount of managerial belief that each of us is highly replaceable is frustrating. Is that really so? I don't want to offend anyone, but the quality of employees in the past and now is incomparable. Fiserv can no longer retain anyone, and especially not attract and retain talent.

For me F-serv is replaceable. It's a two way street, frank.

I made a lateral move to get out and it was the best decision ever. I would've taken less money if I had to but I was already extremely underpaid. My new job isn't perfect but nowhere near the dysfunction that is Fiserv. Plus I can't get over the lighter workload, I keep thinking we're going to get laid off because we're slow, but this is what an actual work life balance is, who knew.

To senior management we are numbers on a spreadsheet and butts in seats. They think they can just hire a recent college graduate & get the same level of output. Just replace out one widget with another.

Unfortunately, senior management will NEVER acknowledge that their decisions resulted in the business disaster that is Fiserv and will be. That is because studies have shown that many top execs are complete sociopaths. It will be blamed on "market conditions", "lazy workers", "economic downturn"... you will never hear "I/we screwed up"
