Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

LOA mortgage

I’m as burnt out as burnt out gets here. Home lending advisor in CEntealized. Very tenured and good performer. This job has been a roller coaster, and I have thrived, survived, and despised all the while. Lately it seems their out to manage/preform out. Call compliance is a big one and new requirements keep rolling in with little to know warning.

I’m losing sleep over my job. Work life balance is a bust. Even the Wife thinks I need a tap out and focus on my mental health and take time.

  1. Is this a safe time for a loa - I don’t want to be trapped if another riff roles thru
  1. Is it dangerous to take a LOA while on a PIP or written?

Not even sure I will do this but curious on peoples thoughts. Anyone else regret taking the LOA?

DO NOT …. I repeat DO NOT take that LOA unless you plan on quitting. JP WILL let you go, legally or not.

I worked at JP and they are just as ruthless as the Big 4 accounting firm that tried to terminate while in ICU with a heart attack! I sued and won but had to deplete my entire savings. Got to JP Dallas headquarters and quit within 2 months because the similarities were too hard to ignore.

You’ve now been warned

"Is it dangerous to take a LOA while on a PIP or written?"

Is that your status? I've heard it's common to take a LOA in that case, but I'm not sure what happens next.

I could have written this post, well, the first sentence or two. I've got my own reasons to trudging along. What's your work time line? I've seen a bunch of Centralized HLAs find much better positions in other departments. Is that an option for you?

Maybe go ahead and take the LOA and figure out things from there.

I'm not sure how they could do any more layoffs without shutting down Home Lending, and that's not going to happen. We are dropping calls like mad. There are things they could do to fix that...and, do you really the HLA role being moved offshore?

Took a LOA. 2 days after coming back. They laid me off. If you do take a LOA then look for a job while you are out. There are a ton of fake job postings. Hundreds of resumes sent. There is nothing out there. Also if you go on LOA and you have many years in, there is always severence.

So sorry. You're in good company. It's about to get busier. Please take care of you first. I am a seasoned employee and feel the stress mounting. High performer but we are being nitpicked. Firmly believe they are phasing us out to welcome Manila for the bulk of our jobs. We have a year or two tops. But I also believe they will realize too late that it was a big mistake. Comprehension is being faked and once we are mostly gone the voluminous errors being made will be glaring.

I took LOA and didn’t regret it. You just have to remember that they only pay you based on your salary, not the commission you historically received. As for layoffs, they’ll base anything on your performance prior to taking LOA.
