Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Huge expectations

It is not the first time that the boss sets an unrealistic deadline, only to turn out that the matter is not so urgent after all. And not only that, but I also noticed that a lot of times he requires us to do some tasks that turn out to be completely unnecessary. What is that, intentional torture of employees? I'm starting to despise this company.

Typically it's a way to show they are important, or a VIP in the company and everyony under him must work their a-s off for him. Interestlingly First Data or now Fiserv was the only company I worked for so far had this kind of managment with this style, which said something about this toxic organization. I am glad I left a year ago.

Don't you love the Friday afternoon - we need this done right away or we need this data by Monday morning! Guess what - they should have thought of that earlier - I am not going to make up for their poor planning.

I really think a lot of this is truly a severance-saving technique to get people to leave.

This has been a persistent issue for at least 3 years now.

You can either take on these unrealistic deadlines and suffer the stress, or you can do the best job you can do and let it be. What can I accomplish in 8 hours? How can I work the problem in the most efficient way? If I didn't meet the deadline, the response is, we will get there, we just don't have enough resources to meet these time based deadlines.

On every single situation, there is drama, and then a resetting of goals, deadlines, and expectations. Why sacrifice your health? Do the best you can and rest in the fact that you did the best you could with what you had. It isn't your fault, leadership is setting you up to fail.
