XD. Sounds like B4B nonsense. Let’s all stack hands (code for agree with my idea) and let’s move forward to increase our ESG score. And , when it doesn’t work, you will be blamed
Ah yes, the hurried three 'subject matter experts', and 'convenient' coworker samples using possibly biased survey instruments. I'm quite familiar with those methods...
If it makes you feel any better, and it probably won't, there is a UX-related statistics book that these folks may be referring to which advocates the use of small sample sizes along with some adjustments to rectify sample size issues. According to the authors, those methods are based on real science and are considered valid practice.
That being said, the Psychology and Engineering people, although arrogant, typically know better and can generally point to their references. The arts and humanities people, however, tend to rely on fuzzy 'Jedi Mind Trick' explanations and dismissive hand waves to convince you of their credibility. ('These are not the droids you are looking for. Move along'). I used to do this stuff, but once the arts, humanities, and NCSU Psychology Ph.D's took the field over, it just became too insufferable.
"The Psychology and Engineering people have some real science behind their methods..."
Conducting surveys using a "statistically significant" group of three people comprised of mouth-breathing Truist employees you happen to sit next to is not "real science". Yes, I've seen this happen at Truist.
Any One View folks on here?
There were XD people there before Suntrust came along. The Psychology and Engineering people have some real science behind their methods (if they are allowed to employ them). The "designers", art people, and XD folks with degrees in "reading" are full of hot air, though.
This group is the epitome of the smartest kids in the room syndrome brought to you by Suntrust Case and Myers. They want to save the bank some money throw all these over educated geniuses out. An absolute waste of resources. Pretending to create customer experiences that bring customers to the bank, utter nonsense. This is the new technology that the two banks were combined for? Biggest scam perpetrated in banking in many years.
XD is a pretend science anyway. Bunch of phony "experts". Ask any two XD "engineers" what the best solution is, and you'll get two entirely different answers. It all comes down to who can speak in the most authoritative tone of voice.
