AWS is making employees go back into the office if you are not virtual. Oracle was only continuing to allow it to stay competitive to other tech companies, but once they start to make people go back, so will Oracle

I was hired as 100% remote, to what office I am supposed to "return"? I've been working 15 years from my hope. I will never step inside office again.

Badge swipes are being calculated, not employees names. Just the number of foot traffic in owned buildings.. The reasoning is to determine if we should sublease out space, or sell off property.

They have to justify the leases they committed to! Haven't heard anything about it being mandatory on the Oracle side, but didn't read an article about it being mandatory on the netsuite side.

This is happening across the country, across all industries and it’s almost like a coordinated effort to prop up downtowns everywhere. But the business community would never ever plot against their workers for the benefit of the powers that be, would they?
🙄😂

There is no official '50 mile policy' anymore. It's at the determination of your business unit. If they want to get rid of you then they will push you into an office and hope you quit. They know that onprem is going to be cut drastically in the future and the more people who quit now means fewer who will be paid unemployment or severance.

Our teams communicated like 2 or 3 days in office. It is so stupid because most of us work for dying products and there aren’t any true co-workers in same office anyhow. What’s the point if the rest do your team in Orlando or California or Austin and your manager in Salt Lake?

Just a ploy to get more people to quit

It's true, directors are pushing hard in their orgs for this abolishment of WFH. They want to welcome back this in office "collaboration" and "teamwork" nonsense. Just pray you are outside the official Oracle 60 mile radius policy to your local office. Otherwise you might have no choice.
