I was laid off this morning and didn't think about my recognize points until just now. I have something like 800 points in there. Is it possible to cash these out now? Already turned in my PC and badge.

You can continue to redeem your unused Recognize! Points
This is a reminder that the points you’ve earned through the Recognize! program remain yours for redemption even after
you leave Medtronic. However, when you leave the company, you are no longer part of the Medtronic network and will
have to access the Recognize! website from a different link.

The Visa cards expire after a year but you can use any amount left on a card to load a non-expiring card balance at Amazon. One additional tip: if you call the number on the back of the Visa gift card they can consolidate many card balances onto one card which is a lot more convenient than trying to use several cards to make a large purchase.
49 points will get you a $100 Visa gift card.
If you plan to cash out via gift cards, be aware that the gift card’s expiration date is only one year from the month it is issued. There’s probably a way to get an expired card replaced if it still has value, but if you go the gift card route you might consider spacing out your redemptions
You can access your points after you leave MDT. As mentioned, email ask HR from your personal email and provide employee #. You don't have to cash them out in a hurry as they are yours and counted as taxable income.

That’s like $1600 in visa gift cards! I remember someone telling me there is a way to cash them after leaving mdt. I will find the link.
When you were awarded these points they were reported as taxable income on your next pay check (MDT gives additional tax assistance money for those points so after tax withholding, your net pay was about the same as usual). So they are your own, taxed, earned income now and Medtronic cannot take them away even if they wanted to.
Yea, your recognize points don't expire, but I would cash them out since you'll likely forget about them otherwise.
