Reasons for not participating in surveys?

I've heard from several people that they do not intend to participate in surveys.

I was pretty brutal in my last survey with the company. It was back when Frank 1st announced that he was ending remote work. Just shy of COVID.

Within a month, I was given my 3 mo. notice. I doubt that was a coincidence.

After having management claim that any complaints were caused by employees misunderstanding the question then removing those questions the following year (this was pre-merger), hollow promises to actually do something with our input, and last year having my boss claim that all the negative feedback must have come from someone who left so it didn't matter... What's the point?

At this point it seems that they push for survey responses to claim high 'employee engagement' scores that they can spin for investors and clients

I'm in management. All they do is try and guess who left comments and then laugh at everyone's complaints. Don't give them the satisfaction. If anything, leave the lowest scores with no comments. Having a very low score as a people manager will get noticed. My immediate report and next level up are some of the worst people ever. He sucks. I plan to leave the absolute worst scores and hopefully he won't see it coming because I constantly smile in his face and act like his terrible approach to management is the greatest. Others that don't get pooped on.

I always did the survey. Not this year. We get such pressure from management that they want to see high participation numbers. Why? I don’t think I’ve seen a single change applied in the ten years I’ve been here. Maybe a refusal to even play along will send a message. I’m too over it to care.

The comments never get to Frank. Survey companies compile them in a doc and send it separately to their contact at the company. That person, or team of people, then sanitize the comments and deliver a summary of what the people were complaining about. Don’t waste your time.

Well if they want to read them and break their own "anonymous" policy, good luck firing you for cause for telling the truth on the survey. If they want to RIF me for telling the execs what a sh1tty job they are doing, have at it.

Fiserv, pre-hostile takeover by First Data, my manager willingly shared the results & the conments. Ever since First Dodo took over - they wouldn't show it... have to wonder if they are hiding comments from irate employees?!?!

I dont really feel like spending time on a survey that they arent going to do anything with. Also they should do a survey about exec leadership not your immediate manager. Most people like their immediate manager but despise our exec leadership.

Agreed. MGMT won't listen. MGMT just does the opposite. Surveys are not anonymous, can't be trusted. No such thing on a work computer with keylogger and screen capture software running 24/7.

Reasons for not participating is simple. Those who are conducting these 'surveys' DO NOT CARE!!! Nothing will change, it never has, never will. FB has an agenda, period. The managers who push these are just 'checking a box'. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!
