Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Sorry to those impacted over the next month

I along with many others have been shipped around all parts of the world to outsource your roles... I want to say I'm Personally Sorry to those losing their jobs, the writing has been on the wall for 7 years or so. I've posted a couple times while on my travels trying to warn internal agents of this by saying to take advantage of college tuition and other benefits.

We worked tirelessly year after year (even borrowing internal pieces multiple times) to make this happen. Personally I was thinking internal would be off the books by 2025 and left untouched this year, but looks like it came a year sooner. We get paid to do the most un-American thing, outsourcing your jobs by training/ supporting your replacements. For this I'm sorry, in the end though we all have our expiration dates. Even folks in my role will be outsourced sooner or later.

For those left after June 28th, just know CFS is 100% outsourced, and Fraud is about 90% looking to go 100%, all other departments will be an 80/20 split with the goal of 90/10 minimum by somepoint beginningnext year. So even if you make it just know you are on limited time, judging by our stock, debts, and business model... let's just say internal is over completely by January 2025 from what I see. With so many spc sites and all the hiring on this side of the business what do you think??? This is me saying sorry but giving you the realization of the end of the road.

I have been with Verizon for 11 years and my heart breaks to see where we are headed. This is poor leadership at its best. Hans has done this to Ericson and he’s bent on doing it again..
We will not be around much longer if the trend continues, as our customers are suffering and they are speaking loud & clear - by leaving and going to a better managed Wireless Carrier with vision and one who has the customer and their employees in mind. We do not. We all need to start looking and leave the puppets who are managing the chaos to do our jobs..Hans - .go back home to your country. Maybe IKEA needs a poor CEO..

@1ywh+1mXJAban Not the OP so take this with a grain of salt. I’m with that infamous team that everyone transfers to. I deal with many IS reps, care reps, tech support reps, business care reps business sales reps, and fraud reps. The 80/20 model is ok for many teams (well not really but at this point its too late) but imho doing the 80/20 model is a huge mistake for IS, business sales, and business care. In its current state the offshore reps for these 3 are basically care reps with extra access. They know nothing, they can barely work our already sh-t housed systems and they lie like there is no tomorrow (not sure if thats on purpose or if the training is just that bad). When compared to the in house reps the difference is staggering.

I was told by some slack brown noser with a made up title that the off shore numbers for metrics were similar to us. I call bullsh-t until they show us the numbers. We already know all the tricks they use to cheese the stats (because we’ve seen them done or do it ourselves).

Personally speaking I love most of you US based IS reps. You know your sh-t, you don’t bs us, you don’t lie to us to get your issue fixed and you don’t try to get us do things that are against code of conduct or potentially illegal.

Thank you for being the best part of Berizon, I hope you are not effected and I’d recommend finding a new job ASAP.

Cmon buddy if you were sorry you would have let something slip before hand. I appreciate the rawness but too little too late.

But its all good, I figured layoffs were part of corporate culture. This was my 3rd one with vz. During the first 2 they were professional, had resources ready. This one was an absolute sh-t show. This company is going down the drain so bad that I hope we get bought out or split between a couple companies. When I was told that my position it self was not effected but others in the same department were I asked if I could volunteer to take a package. I could see the SM getting slightly shocked and annoyed that I wasn’t grateful.

There is nothing to be grateful for. My job will be twice as hard. Cx will be transferred 2x more than they already are and probably 3x more angry. Oh and this will come with no pay raise, more than likely a reduction in both STI and Stock together.

I plan on posting my plan for causing more churn and losing verizon more money within the next 2 weeks.

OP - in your opinion, will the Inside Sales Department be affected by this 80/20 split that you're talking about?

Whoa OP…this is the most raw post I’ve seen. Has to be hard! Not your fault, but yeah, a stronger warning sooner probably would have helped a lot of people. This was the lowest thing I’ve seen this company do! And realistically, how much is this really saving the business that CS couldn’t stay and just let attrition work some if this out on its own?

Would be nice if folks didn’t brag about it on their linkedin.

I was in the messaging department and choose to pick the severance package. Last day was March 17th. I always knew the time would come to an end but didn't know it was going to be so soon as I transition from a voice agent to messaging agent in 2020. They made it seem that the messaging team will stay forever. I guess it is staying forever but with SPC. They didn't lay off Tech Messaging Team. Wonder if that is coming down the road?
