Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

More on Kyndryl Age Based Layoffs

The amended complaint [PDF] expands on these allegations, arguing Kyndryl carried out layoffs "as a part of IBM's continued targeting of older workers for termination" and that Kyndryl carried out that strategy – ensuring that older workers left the organization by preventing them from obtaining open positions.

I am sorry for anyone who got laid off at Kyndryl. The fact is those person's who were laid off were more than likely IBM legacy roll overs. I have read many blogs of persons feeling righteously indigitated. How dare Kyndryl lay me off I put Twenty five plus years in with IBM. I need to point to the obvious here. Kyndryl is not IBM, Kyndryl did what was best for Kyndryl. You were no required to join Kyndryl you could have maybe you should have not come to Kyndryl. IBM was done with you. Your career has come to a close at IBM, the moment you were shifted to Kyndryl. At least going to Kyndryl gave you a couple more years of employment.

Exactly, saturation point has been reached. The very fact that Kyndryl is top heavy with older legacy workers is problematic itself. The older workers usually have the higher wages and better benefits. The older workers are not to be blamed for their dedication and years of good service. That being said companies in today's work world. Just prefer the younger workers. Those younger workers are perceived as hungry and more willing to adapt to changes. They have less family baggage, and realistically willing to work for substantially less. The younger generation are less willing to park themselves at a company decade after decade. When the younger workers willingly cycle themselves out of a company. It opens up opportunity for that company to bring in fresh workers and so forth. Kyndryl is doing what has to do to stay competitive into day's market.
