Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

That would be very nice, but…

I don't want to stay here until retirement, nor do I think that any job is guaranteed, but it would be nice if, in general, we could finally feel a little safer in this company. Maybe I'm expecting too much? Of course, no one can be the most productive when they are in constant fear of losing their job.

To be honest, you should have tried looking elsewhere two years ago, back during The Great Resignation.

Looking today is going to be tougher. Not quite a nightmare, but not looking good, either. LinkedIn is getting more and more packed with people begging for jobs due to layoffs, so it's not like you can just quit-and-run these days.

(given that it's Fiserv, I'd go looking anyway, though...)

It's only going to get worse. Been to Jersey? It's a sh!thole.

The current leadership doesn’t believe anything is wrong.

It's a mess and I'm sorry. I left a month ago - the constant changes, chaos, management "guidance" had gotten to the point of ridiculous. I was able to do it financially, and I realize that not everyone is, but damn I feel so much better getting out of there. It's crazy to be under the stress of keystroke counts, hours in office, etc. I almost feel like it would be easier to work at McDonald's, and it's a damned shame Frank thinks that's who we are. He's a terrible leader and doesn't even care. Lots of terrific people are leaving and retaining institutional knowledge is in no way important to him or sr management. Very sad.

Yes. The impending doom is un-nerving.

I started at Fiserv over a decade ago. When I got here I was elated, and I very much wanted to retire here. The company was not only stable but cared for its employees, and the benefits were good. No, it wasn’t perfect, leadership then had their faults, but nothing compared to the leaders today. What’s amazing is how very public the crash course this company is on, and for some time, yet they do nothing despite the clear evidence the current path is the wrong one. For as much this leadership circle and CEO think they are cutting edge and so successful, they demonstrate daily nothing but clear ineptitude in creating the path necessary for success. Which is a positive and productive work force that feels appreciated. No, I don’t think you can or ever will feel safer under this regime. It’s not within their realm of understanding or the strategy they have continually enforced for the last 18-24 months. It will take years to rebuild several key areas in all the cores.
