Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Take the severance and run.

I left Verizon at the end of 2018 after 17 years. Taking the severance and bailing was the best thing I've ever done. Not having the daily stress over whether or not your job is going to be eliminated is worth the temporary (potential) reduction in pay moving to another company. If you don't do it now, it's just a matter of time before it comes up again. Save your sanity and GTFO.

an exec told me to increase chances of staying, a dei change was needed. it was hard to stomach being told to become a woman. Glad she's gone years now. CS.

Wow, OP is gone 5 yrs but still stalking this board. Guess life’s not always so good post VZ.
I retired after 30 yrs early 2023 from Mid Mkt sales bc of toxic environment. My last mo in Vz at 120%+ of number. But the stress, lack of sales team support and clueless leadership who dont care about the employees made me ring out. Had several offers but joined TMo bc of culture and recommendations by many other former V Teamers (I had 5 other 20+ yr ex Vz’ers at my training table in TX!)
My point is to advise you to leave right. Most Co’s benefits not as rich. Get those medical issues resolved before you go, or at least see every specialist you need asap. Good luck and I’ll see you at the UnCarrier in the near future!

I took my 60k package and found a job in 2 months making quite a bit more. Your number will be up soon, prepare now…

I am battling this. Severed in 2022 but found a role to stay. Pay increase of 23k since. Now facing a reorg and already secured a new role to stay. I keep asking myself if I should just lay low and hope for a package or keep trying to progress within. Benefits of staying outweigh a package for now; but I know my number will likely get called again soon.
