Some HPE middle manager “insisted” that I take the early retirement package so I did. I live close to the new HPE campus so coming into the office wouldn’t be problem and like working in the lab. Now, I am forced to work from home for another large company that gave me a huge raise. Oh, woe is me.

Dear @gqde+1mTLMAd7 please share what part of the org you work in. I started a year ago and unbeknownst to me had to unlearn 20+ years of progress in software engineering. I am stuck in Scaled ScrumFall land and would love to return to agile bliss.

Indeed. Now that they started using Agile practices, I don't care about the company profit or products. I have enough BS every day to fight

When Antonio became CEO in Feb 2018, HPE stock price was $15 and change. Right now it is $15 and change. He and his team of sr. management clowns couldn't move the stock price in 5 years. Antonio needs to go.

Here's a clue. Back when HP was a leader in hardware and support (their heyday) EVERYONE worked in the office. What's different now? Working from home is a prime opportunity for people who are slackers, probably 60-80% of everyone working for HPE now. Antonio and other CEOs have realized that is the case so get your fannies back in the office or leave so they can hire people who want to really work. Sorry but that's the hard truth.

The new "3-day" policy is heavy handed and never would have happened if people would have heeded my advice. For better coverage, move to the middle of the fairway when on Antonio's staff calls in case your asked to speak.

And, buy a Starlink dish for your yacht, it means you can more efficiently work while at those pesky remote anchorages--no more missed Monday morning forecast calls. It's a great way to maximize your four day weekends!

Next thing you know they're going to ask us to actually work on Fridays again.

I was on a working session (as opposed to bulls*t session) with 3 dev engineers till 7pm tonight. Everyone working from home in different cities and states, to solve a customer problem. Being in our respective offices instead of home would have added zero value, except that all 3 engineers would have left office at 5pm and told me and my customer to f- off. So yeah, I'm really looking forward to 3 mandatory days in-office. Gives me more time to hunt for another job, since there won't be anyone to "collaborate" and "share team energy" with.

I come into the office 1 day a week and will continue to do so. I get a lot more work done when I WFH.

No doubt leadership is clueless as ever, and only follows what everybody else is doing in the market. They have no ba--s, no courage, no innovation. They're just worried about getting their end of year options to enrich themselves.

Completely disagree with @6juq+1mTLMAd7. Nobody gets anything done when in the office. Just a bunch of people playing pingpong and interrupting others trying to work. This company is sh-t. This is likely their plan to dump a bunch of people by having them leave voluntarily to save on severance they otherwise would've had to pay out. Unfortunately for them, the people who can and will leave, will be their highest performers.

I left HPE a year ago and saw people hardly working when they were at home. I could never get in contact with them even though I guess they were home. Then at meetings we had to deal with their children or pets which was really distracting. People need to get into the office and if you won't your job will be near shored to places like Costa Rica where the newbies will be productive at least for a while. Either way HPE is doomed because of their clueless leadership. Good luck to you all.

And now Antonio wants to bring everyone back to the office, 3 days minimum. He is so disconnected. He sees that his company is failing to meet revenue commitments and his solution is to pi-s off everyone that still works there and that are the ones that can turn things around. People need to look for better things, leave this dying company. Apple and others can pull this off because are actually companies doing interesting things. BUT HPE?

40 years with hpe and so glad i left on My own terms. This company will never be a viable player in the market due to leadership that sucks . Poor leadership means poor return means poor company outlook in world view.

HPE has been in a death spiral for years. I am so happy that I got out when I did.
