Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Shame on VZW

Shame on VZW for doing us like this and Hans for outsourcing an American company with American workers. Did immigration not renew the green card that you got to ruin the lives of others.

You had lives and families in your hands living pay check to paycheck on barely any pay ! Poof it’s gone.

This didn’t happen overnight. Two years ago this was being implemented. I left two years ago because this is what was in the news the outsourcing. Call centers were being built overseas and none of you thought my job may be in jeopardy? Wake up and smell the coffee companies are there for the $ and all the talk of were family is hog wash! Every employee can be replaced at any time.

Go boat, go broke.

Stop shipping off American jobs. You are stealing from our country.

Why are so many saying it’s an “American company”? The base is in the US but it hasn’t been American since what? 2013 or 2014 when the global shares of Vodafone were bought out. It been global for a long while now.

These union reps need to change their strategy. It’s very obvious.

America is a business. The ceo has a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders. Nothing else matters all the talk and bullsh-t they feed you is to keep people just on the edge of going insane and to keep you in a seat taking calls or slinging phones.

I left the company in 2019 after 2+ decades in the business. I was not a fan of the new CEO at that time... I'm still not a fan. I wish everyone the best. Please know there is life after VZW however this is a bigger situation than I've ever seen in the past. After VZW leading for so many years.. I never thought I'd see the day that the company is looking to outsource almost all of their CS frontline operation. Its a sad day!

I knew when he took over years ago that this was the path VZW was heading down. This isn't going to be an American company much longer.

I don't work at Verizon, but I do find it ironic that neither the CEO nor the chairman are people from born or raised in the US. As such, they have no compassion for the American worker.
