Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

What is the total impact?

Hey guys! I was laid off today and part of VBG. Do we know the total impact across the company?

My Sr Mgr stated twice he was told they want 50% across board pink slipped. Sure some will be hired back. I’m a sup and was let go.

@1jmq+1mM7JMwh I was in that call then was told allegedly that my role has not been impacted. No emails or links to the micro site. Then my sup along with several others was impacted. Tbh I still think my role will be impacted and after this sh-t show I hope it is. By far the worse RiF I have been a part of in Verizon. At least back in the day they had announcements, resources and communication on day one. I guess Hans can’t even manage RiF.

Between 2020 and 2022 the Swedish Meatball slashed over 15,000 employees. I would expect a 2023-2024 YOY change to be similar. The Woketard CEO seems to have a goal of sub 100K.

There were 6k on the CS call alone. Some of those will get a new role but no word how many, guessing few. So there's a floor number to start with.

I was told they are looking to let 20k across all channels both vcg and vbg.... but who knows. Hans is running this ship into the ground.

Someone shared 1,400 on an earlier post on this site, but I don't know how accurate that is. Would be a little over 1% of the total work force of true.

Having been through many rounds of layoffs, the total impact is never shared,l likely to keep stock prices from tanking if word gets out. Outside of someone in the know from VP level or up leaking the info, it's all speculation. This board has said anywhere from 1% to 15%, for example.
