It is my impression that the leadership does not really want happy employees… Otherwise, why make life difficult for good employees in every way? Without any hope that things will get better here, I wonder what they will do next to make this workplace even worse.

You people are ridiculous. You want happiness find it with your family, friends, church, hobbies or wherever. This is work, do your job, get your pay then go find happiness. Nobody cares about your happiness snowflake just your performance.
Happy or not doesn’t matter, same number of you will be laid off in next two weeks. Underwriters, pm’s, support staff lot of credit based people. Low productivity must be addressed and will be. RM territories will be consolidated also. Buckle up.
As a BB&T and Suntrust customer before the merger, I remember BB&T always being a conservative, but most solid bank. They never over promised, customer service was excellent. There is a reason they were one of a few banks to survive the Great Depression. Suntrust was a convenience account, having a branch location at our local Publix. I absolutely HATE that these 2 banks consolidated. It's like they took the worst things about Suntrust and made it into Truist. I don't see any of the things I liked about BB&T in this new bank. There is a glimmer of the old website in the new one, but it's still been mucked up. I make a point to keep paper copies of statements because ya'll can't be trusted any more.
These Leaders are Villains, Pirates, Bullies, and Bandits. Happiness to them is gathering to check off their next targets all while cheerfully chanting Truist Cares.
They want us afraid.
In Enterprise Tech, the Case, Meyer, and their proteges, always had a way to make it sound like they were better than hBB&T folks. But really, they aren't good leaders at all. Glad to be out of that toxic environment.
