Why ??? Future in SpinCo

Why nobody wants to join SpinCo? What is top management hiding ? Why there is no transparency?

The name Imation is based on the Latin words informare, meaning information, and imaginari, or imagination [in fact, they are verbs and translate more accurately as “to inform” and “to imagine.”

“We took our core businesses – information and imaging – and combined them with our central values – innovation and imagination – and created Imation,” said Bill Mohanan, CEO of the spin-off based in Oakdale, MN.

Somehow Imation sounds like Imitation

Wonder who came up with that name

Healthcare has been strong within 3M. Will it still be strong if it is measured against other healthcare companies? Plus the extra costs for building/maintaining a own distribution chain, pilot lines, corporate functions... Isn't it just a matter of time until they get absorbed by a bigger healthcare company?

Healthcare is the strongest BG in 3M and it will fare better as a stand-alone company. Imation was spun to capture the remaining value of a dying business in an obsolete technology (floppy disks, mag media). Healthcare SpinCo isn't like Imation, no matter what it's eventually called. Healthcare is spinning to be saved from 3M, not the other way around.

The sheer greed of this company, they are modern day Di-k Turpins, the worker bees are really getting hammered,,it was already bad but now the worst is yet to come, more cutbacks and layoffs over the next months , great to see the workers in some UK sites have progressed to Strike action,,this is the o ly way to get a proper pay Increase after nearly a decade of ridiculous increases, good luck to the worker bees in Bangor who will be striking in July. You have our full support

It would be funny if they were trying to hire a CEO for SpinCo, based on Healthcare being 1/4 of the 3M business, hence based on Roman's salary of $16M, they are looking to pay $4M for Spinco's CEO. hahahahahaha! That's entry EVP money.

Didn't they hire consultant company to find a name for Spin Co?. That company probably buying more time doing survey after survey and milking all the money. 3M will try to earn that money by firing more worker bees.

In theory SpinCo won’t be sued into oblivion and can slough off a chunk of the garbage leadership that ParentCo has. It will have challenges but better prospects than ParentCo. Name is not critical and very unlikely it’ll leave St. Paul, although lack of CEO is not great

I don't even think it'll happen.
There is no way it would be better if It keeps the same leadership.

No one wants to go because there has literally been nothing communicated about what spinco will become. Who will be the CEO? What are the benefits/pay like? How will they operate compared to parentco? Like, they dont even have a name for it yet! Too much uncertainty.
