Was on a call today with our director. He said that we are a few months away from new divestitures that we will see close to 100 corporate VZW locations changing hands and going to Victra and Cellular Sales. Buckle up.

Since indirect produces about 50 percent of the growth in VCG channel I don’t see that happening soon.
Indirect just got pushed out of retail and almost all IAM’s were severanced. It’s being managed by a call center now. That was a failed experiment just like One Team. VZ is putting more money and a big hiring effort for the frontline so that’s probably not close to being true.Also I doubt that a director would spill confidential business information to anyone that reports to them.
Stores are going dark and consolidating all the time, and others are shutting down when leases expire. The VGS real estate group will confirm. This will continue to happen - nothing is ever announced . Only the locals impacted know. They are quietly reducing retail locations. And our commercial buildings are either completely empty and shut down or ghost towns .
Verizon has closer to 1450 corporate stores. 1600 maybe before the last 4 years of closures and divestitures.

"Close to 100 corporate VZW locations" What does that mean? Nationally? Or just one region? If national, we have 1,600 corporate stores so almost a drop in the bucket there chicken little.

Very likely. After speaking with real estate people, vZW is working overtime negotiating leases around the country and evaluating store. If any real estate people stop by, just know your store is getting downsized/moved or closed.
Keep in mind that they just cut all of the Indirect Account Managers. It certainly could have truth to it, but it's less likely now than it was six months ago.... unless they bring on new Indirect Account Managers that actually do something. There was a ton of dead weight in that channel, especially in the east.
I’m hearing the opposite that we are planning on cutting out a lot of indirects and move to mostly corporate only stores

With the 75% off accessories fire sale happening I'd think by end of June. We only have 2 plans now with add ons... seems easy enough for any vendor to manage. So I think end of June.
Me too- heard the same thing in the South - between this and some leases not be renewed we may end up losing 125 locations . Just rumor at this time
