Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Migration from Canada to the US continues and maybe it’s time to write your Congressman or Congresswoman and Senator

The US business may have benefited in the past from moving people with special skills and knowledge from Canada to the US but the need has declined significantly yet we continue to move people from Canada even when there appears to be qualified and available people in the US. This is potentially taking jobs away US employees and from Americans and US permanent residents in general and it feels like the lack of qualified people and efforts to find qualified candidates in the US is possibly being exaggerated. I think it’s time to write my Congresswoman and Senator about this practice and maybe others should do the same to protect US jobs.

Probably because Canadians are just harder working, smarter, more skilled and generally nicer people.

They are also rigging the system and hoodwinking immigration to think their are no capable people able to do the jobs in the US. All in the name of bringing their buddies or protégés over. The corruption going on is swept under the carpet

Here in Canada, Enbridge seems to be using an outsourcing business model, but just applying it to whoever will work the cheapest within Canada even if they don't have the skills for the job.

In Houston, for years, the word on the street is how awful it is to work for Enbridge. I have a friend who quit and started contracting (way more $$$), took an assignment back at Enbridge, lasted one month and demanded another assignment.

It was bad before the merger, yet has devolved to new lows.

To my much beloved colleagues it is too much distrust and animosity in the workplace in Canada.
I would much prefer the US perhaps not as uncomfortable.
Coworkers in Canada are not polite or compassionate. Very mean and angry and much boastfull for no reason
We must be kinder to one another, yes?

When you write your congress rep and senator dont forget to put a nice fat check in with your letter. Otherwise they wont give a rat's p-o hole about your concerns.

Very few people go south for work. There's just too many negatives.
