No career path for Technology roles

I am a Senior Lead with 22 year of experience and extensive technical background. I did not understand the employee ranking when I hired on. My title in my previous company was Senior Principal. I have many colleagues who are less skilled, have just a little over 10 years of experience and are in the next rank and level - ED. I have all the requirements according to Career 2.0 for the ED rank and more. My manager agrees that I should be promoted but no clear path to promotion has been communicated. I can certainly take on more responsibilities, but I am not given the chance. I feel stuck. What are my options if I want to stay in the firm?

No hope here at all. A woman in my old LOB was promoted by doing nothing. But she was a diversity with big B—s.

Analyst -> Jr Associate -> Sr Associate -> Vice President can be achieved through hard work.

At the Executive Director level, just hard work won't get you there. The minimum requirements you will need are Exposure, Executive Sponsorship, Platform and DEI Leadership plus various other factors. I suggest you find a mentor to show you the ropes vs. trying to figure it all out yourself.

Get the heck out of the place if you are talented, if you are not, would recommend sticking around and listening to what middle mgmt says

Also at that level just before ED here. My understanding is that exposure and sponsorship are what get you over the line
