Life is changing hour by hour. First I get laid off, then wait, we really need you, apply for these jobs, oops you didn’t get that one, you are actually leaving on May 1, wait, the person that you “promoted” just quit, please apply for that job and I promise it will be yours, well you didn’t get that so you are out, wait, more people quit that we didn’t count on quitting so you need to apply for these now three open positions. So many people are taking jobs until they get new ones and quitting with no notice. The whole mess has just got me swirling, changing literally every hour. I understand why people are quitting in droves but I haven’t figured out what I am doing yet and this back and forth, we don’t need you, we desperately need you is driving me nuts.

Why on earth are you talking with this company? follett has betrayed its work force consistently, under two different management teams, for more than 10 years now. Do you think it will get better. Did they say sorry, it was a mistake to let you go? No battered spouse has ever heard that before.
I can tell you that I have had a similar experience to what Paws has described. I personally think the NXTThing recruiters are so overwhelmed and the people currently getting contacted and receiving offers are initially being contacted by people within Follett (such as RM's and others making the hiring decisions) seeing the applications roll through as opposed to the NXTThing recruiters screening the candidates and in turn passing the best of the best to the hiring managers. That is at least my take.

Things will not get better, come May 1st they will be scrambling. I told my RM, no thanks. I have no interest in being abused by this company any longer.
Your not the only one, I am applying for the CM3 position, as I previously worked at Follett. Figured I would do what I use to do pre-covid and finally make a somewhat decent wage. Can't even get my interview right. I have applied and tried to interview 3 times. Have emailed the nextthingpro recruiter twice and have heard next tk nothing at all. Just the auto responses that the position has been filled and then 10 min later, "we are interested in your resume please apply here" que face palm
