Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Speak your mind next week

We get 1 chance a year to tell management what is working and what is broken. Fill out the survey honestly and let them know. I was super PO'ed last year when ppl on here said I'm just gonna say everything is awesome like I'm in the Lego movie as I don't want to lose my job. Lol, pathetic.

Don't get all mad when the scores are high if you weren't brave enough to be honest.

Survey is being delayed a few weeks due to the RTO announcement going out tomorrow - Monday-Thursday mandatory

Not filling out the survey marks you as a dissenter/resister.

NOT filling out the survey is the thing to do. Gotta log in to fill it out, it's not anonymous. Upper management won't change anything based on your responses. Better to spend that 20 mins filling out a new job application.

What have FB & crew ever done to actually make you think that they care what the engagement results are?

That is why I think not responding is better than putting in a bunch of comments... this is a survey for them to further weed out the dissenters/resisters.

They only want kool-aid drinkers working for them - then they can squeeze 60-80 hours out of them every week & they will gladly do it because they are "so fortunate to still have a job"

Regarding anonymity… I do believe it’s anonymous. However, there’s a big “but”. The results can be sliced in various ways (ie, by region, manager, etc). Depending on the structure of your org it’s often possible to use that slicing to narrow down scores to a couple of people (sometimes just one) - especially if they add comments too.

I’m a former HR leader from FD. THE SURVEYS ARE NOT ANONYMOUS- WE HAD THE ABILTY TO DIG INTO EACH RESPONSE IF WE WANTED TO.

Is this survey mandatory? If not, don't even bother. Time is better spent elsewhere.

The fact that they punish the direct managers for scores targeted at the executive level is just another way they try to scare/coerce people into being "obedient workers". It's sad and laughable.

Personally, if the question references my direct manager I rate it super high. If it doesn't I rate it like the steaming sack of monkey sh1t that it is. And I don't give a damn if they know I submit it. I've teed off on the c-suite the last 2-3 years and I'm still exceeds. Every year. These Neanderthals need to hear how they are dragging this company to the punch card days, whether they want to hear it or not.

Responses are not anonymous no matter what they tell you. Beware.

It’s a joke. Watch what you say! I know of an SVP that specifically said keep the comments positive to her directs!!! I can only comment on Omaha… there are issues.

Associate survey is not anonymous. They know who completes the survey in order to roll up results to your leader, director, VP, etc. They will say it is confidential, but don’t believe it.

I definitely speak my mind without being emotional. I don't see anything wrong in that. Don't blame any person and just lay out the problems.

Hasn't changed anything in previous years, but still keep hoping

You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. Negativity reflects poorly on your manager. It's their job to keep you in line, make that, keep moral high and keep you believing in the corporate chatter. There is no room for honest feedback.

If you own Fiserv stock, be sure to read the questions on your proxy carefully. The checks and balances are skewed in FB's favor.

As a previous poster said, it would be nice to reach into his pocket and divide up his raise between everyone.

I haven't participated in the surveys since they started in 2013 and have no intention of ever participating in them. Just give me my paycheck.

They say the surveys are anonymous, but you will have to log in to get access to the survey.

If you want to be laid off, or punish your immediate manager, then score everything low.

If you need to keep your job and do not want to harm your immediate manager, then score everything high.

Not Applicable does not benefit nor harm your immediate manager.

That part only applies to the scores. What you write is a different matter. Every comment gets read. This is your once a year chance to send a message to all managers above you. If you want to say that someone is a Jerk, you can call them out by name. I find it is best to ignore the prompt and just write whatever you want in the text area.

If you want to become a poet or write fiction, now is your chance to have a captive audience.

Say what you want, get it all off your chest. Worst case, your manager gets more vague menacing “this is really bad, men” from directors and VPs, which they now get all the time about everything anyway, and then mgr goes through a bullsh*t exercise where they come up with 3 ways to improve morale and track them in workday. Meetings are held, boxes are checked, whatever.

I would suggest being honest about how you feel about the company and its C-suite leadership if you have those concerns, if for no other reason than to get them documented. Unfortunately, as another commenter mentioned, ALL of the negative scores get put back on your manager/department even if you are perfectly fine with your immediate management. None of the scores seemingly get put where many of them are intended, which is on the executive decision makers. Take it from experience. My overall scores went from 84 to 25 in one year. Not because my team was unhappy with me, but because they hated the direction of the company. As previously stated, it all came back on me and Action Plans needed to be developed to address issues I had no control over. These employee surveys are not written to allow for real feedback on the direction of the company. Sad, but true, and another box leadership and HR can check off.

This will be my first year and will complete my one year at frankalore in some months. I want to let my heart out and not necessarily at my manager but fiserv as a whole. I remember being happy with the company the first months I started working but the more I explore this forum the more I realize that there is so much more going on beyond the pretty little corporate emails they send weekly reminding us of how lucky we are to be working at Fiserv. Are we ? I have gained experience and was able to foster connections with employees in different department and for that I’m grateful. Most people I connect with have the same goals, ambition and strive to move up and for that I am grateful for as well. I vent my concerns with others about the bonus that some of received in our department and I get the good ol’, you should be happy though because look at the economy and these lay offs. I met the best people, I’m learning a lot, I’m part of different organizations but god damn do I just want reach into his pocket and divide the money with the employees that have been working hard and grinding to get only get pennies. I don’t want to sugarcoat the review, I have a lot of stuff to say but I can’t help to feel the same other have felt. I also have concerns that maybe they will keep a closer eye on me. Which department is reading this review ? Can I submit anonymously (highly doubt it) ?

This is not good advice. If you give really bad feedback then it’s your manager/department that gets all the blame - not the higher up management that is causing all the issues. Your manager/division will then have to put together an action plan to make you happier, but that won’t work because they can’t control the real issues. Your (hopefully) good manager and your department then have a target on your backs. This is from experience and having lost a good director due to the survey. Be careful.
