Unless something has changed, any remaining PTO is still paid out for laid off employees. Anyone taking vacation this time of year is usually doing it to burn their carryover balance from last year before it expires on Friday
Yea its the last week to burn PTO before you "lose it" so have the company is on PTO. Perfect for layoff week!
Your manager probably just has to burn vacation because they have been unable to take it due to having so much going on related to RIF’s, trying to plug holes we cannot hire to fill, and figuring out how to staff projects next FY after losing key talent to the VERP.
The down votes are that the manager being gone doesn’t mean you are safe. Might just mean the manager is smart enough to not do the dirty work. Assuming you have a VP, you are not out of the woods necessarily, but I hope you are.
Our manager scheduled a year end team dinner on May 22nd. Does that mean we are safe too? -> Survivors lunch. Toast the fallen
My VP kept my 1:1 which has been scheduled for Tuesday since January…. I’m meeting with her in person so it’ll be extra weird if it’s a layoff announcement
My VP rescheduled our 1 on 1 until after quarter close.....fingers crossed I'll be working thr next 60 days from the beach
What's with all the down votes? Your colleagues secretly wish everyone gets laid off.....except them of course 😂
