Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Work being cut down

Someone mentioned in one of the threads below that his manager cut down his work, probably so that he could could devalue him and claim that the employee is not doing anything. I'm starting to think this isn't a rare occurrence at all?

Common oracle management approach. Isolation strategy used regularly, by incompetent managers. Why the share price is not much higher, because internally it’s broken.

Reduction in the amount of work is the clearest sign you are on the layoff list. My emails dropped to near zero about a month before I was cut.

A worthless senior director in corporate security I was moved under tried to do this to me, in order to protect her job (which she was useless at). She didn’t like anyone capable and it showed as the rest of her team were a bunch of simpletons. I left a few months later, before she could pull any other stunts like this. Also explains why info sec at Oracle is so dire.

There are better places. These people are crooks. You’ll look back and will be glad that you got out of there. There’s a better life ahead for you. They won’t last there until they retire. They’ll get what they deserve. You’ll get what you deserve, something much better than them.

Was talking to a coworker and they said their manager pretty much gave a letter of concern. First they said they were told they weren't the right fit and that they need to adapt to the role. Their manager said they're available for them, but when asked for guidance, they'll never have the time for it. They're also noticing that a lot of their meetings are being canceled.

They suspect they're being positioned to be let go soon and I don't blame them. A letter of concern is the first step to document before a PIP, but a RIF would put you at the front of the line even without a PIP.

Leadership in this company has no interest in growing people to succeed in a role.

It is not a rare occurrence. This is how they typically do it . Beware if this is being done to you . Another 6-8 months would be your maximum before thay add you to the list to layoff
