The "centralized trash" also happened in Mansfield in 2019, pre-pandemic. Good times.

According to our strategy, it is better to restructure the trash bins to a location with more people. Resource allocation is key during tough times. This will be an year long undertaking.

OHQ doesn't have individual trash cans. Central locations only. I thought the comment below was a joke about it, but it sounds like some still have theirs.... Interesting

I don't understand how they can take away the trash bins. Are they going to sell them? Or do they lease them out? Can they not afford trash bags?

@yvm+1m8HdEmu That actually happened at Philips, they took away our trash cans at our desk and we had to bring our garbage to a central location. Such a de-motivating move. Like there's not some other fat they could cut?!

Next I bet they will remove waste bins from our cubes and have us bring garbage to a centralized location.

Pretty soon we'll be washing our own dishes after lunch.

I have allergies and at our campus and department the admin supply cabinet was stocked with the cheap grey recycled low cost tissue boxes. Well the admin and the director decided to stop stocking the tissues because I used too much of it.

I immediately went to Costco and bought bundle of tissue boxes. A week later my director came into my cube and noticed I had tissue supply. He asked if I could give him one box since he and the admin stopped stocking it. I said “sure” and threw him one box. As he caught the box I said “that will be $3 please”.

I'm sure Geoff is paying in full out of pocket for all his own Medtronic gear he wears to photo ops.

VPs were told no more logowear - no team shirts for a big project. No matching MDT logowear for a customer event. No USB sticks or pens to give customers at the booth. This will ensure we can engineer the extrordinary.

We can no longer expense a medtronic branded coffee mug for a new employee. And while you need to have your badge visible per hr policy, dont think that you're going to get a free medtronic branded badge holder or landyard. Even ERGs like the Women's Network, can no longer expense a medtronic t-shirt to give away at an event. But don't worry, you can still purchase medtronic branded merchandise with your own money.

What do you mean by promo items? I didn't receive any communication on this. More cost cutting?
