I know HE was a sell & lease back.
Does anybody know if any ATT employees are still in the building?
When does the lease expire?
What the the new owner plans?

Oh yes, the good ole days! Notebaert and his cronies constantly badgering Mi, In, Wi, and Oh to send more money. We just never thought it would end. Forget about all projects in other four states, building Hoffman Estates is all that mattered.
It once was a beautiful location. Really sad.
Hoffman Estates = Acorn nut heaven
At&t and Bellsouth used to have telco training in Lyle illinois.
HE moved all the employees out 4-5 years ago. It got sold and was leased back for 10 years. It’s now different business and plans include residental units, restaurants and more burlsinesses.
It's the same old cr-p. Employees have to skimp, make do, so all the saved money can be squandered away by the CEO. It's all about history repeating itself. Hoffman Estates even had a heliport for Notebaert to land the corporate helicopter. The distance between downtown Chicago and Barrington was 30 miles!
From what I heard at the time Ameritech put one over on Whitacre. He was buying up Baby Bells and wanted them. No one had the nerve to say no or slow this train down. No idea if due diligence wasn’t done or ignored. Balance sheet looked good because things were being held together with Elmers glue and had been for awhile.
Another Ameritech boondoggle! The money wasted on that campus and all that land is absurd. I remember Weiss then Notebaert just had to have it. This was almost as bad as the Chippendale skyscraper in NYC that at&t had built. We all know how that ended, spent all that cash, then sold it without ever occupying the finished building. It's almost like these telecom CEO's want to leave some kind of legacy. I guess even though these were money losers, they are nothing compared to Stankey and Stephensons rotten failed acquisitions of TMOB, DTV, and WB, leaving us $135B in debt.
It’s said the ghost of Di-k Noetebart roams the halls moaning “Why did I sell out my employees out for a few baubles?”
Plan is for you to go to downtown location. Endure traffic. Pay for parking until your number is called.
It was done a while ago. Last I was there, 8 yrs ago, the bathrooms had cobwebs in them and the offices were being emptied out all desks being removed. And to think it was suppose to be a mall back in the day. We all know how malls are doing today.
