Salary and PTO

I was advised that salary positions cannot take partial 1/2 pto days onky full anyone else heard of this?

Been exempt my entire career and never ever took a partial day of PTO. Policy is very clear about this because it’s based on federal wage and hourly laws. I suspect those commenting that they do it are now going to want Al that PTO back!!! If they’re actually exempt!

That’s correct. If you’re salaried and work for one hour, according to federal wage and hour laws, you must be paid for the entire day. So when it comes to PTO, you take the entire day. You only do increments of time with PTO when you’re hourly.

@3tns+1m7F3r4m - my bosses nor HR have had issue with this for the last 12 years, so I'm not going to worry/care now.

False. I've been taking partial days here and there for years. Some days may be 2 hours, some may be 5.5.

That’s correct. If an exempt associate works two hours or ten, they get paid for eight. Per policy, you take eight or nothing.
