Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

A little transparency would go a long way

This is the least transparent management I have ever encountered. How is this a good business strategy? Keeping employees in the dark?

Transparency? You....are no more than a mushroom. If you aren't sure of this metaphor. Do a web search.

This is how they look upon you.

Hope so maybe they’ll learn the truth. They’ve been lied to so much.
Nobody wants to harm Oracle.

Agreed. The terrible managers protect their egos at all costs however, there is one that we know has left a sloppy trail to many of his own wrong doings. He made his own choices to take from the company and there are stockholders that are not happy with him taking their money - LE night not care - others do are not going to rest until he is brought to justice. Seems like it’s taking forever but it will happen. The Feds do not forget they move whwn they are ready.
They won’t be going after Oracle only this one person. That is my understanding.

He thinks he can do what he wants and hide behind the money and power of Oracle but what he’s done has been against Oracle in several different areas and it’s all been for himself. Nothing for the company. Taking from Oracle and putting in your own pocket is against the rules.

It is the worst management and a terrible place to work. It will be fun watching at least one rotten egg getting thrown out.

t has nothing to do with business practices. Terrible managers protect their egos at all costs. The less you know, the better for their ego in case something goes the wrong way for them.

Oracle is a terrible place to work. The management is truly awful.

Transparency? Honesty with employees? At Oracle? Forget it, it's not going to happen, ever!

The annual June 1 "employee purge" at Oracle is under 2 months out, everyone. Get ready for a major RIF, it's going to happen.

Why does a manger keep you in the dark?

Same reason used by thieves and mu---rers. It's easier to rob, steal and ki-l people in the dark. What you don't know can be used against you.

You must be new here, so I'm going to share a little secret with you. Folks who study business know that orgs take on the personalities of their leaders. Consider the leader of Oracle.

Q: Is he "transparent"?
A: No
Q: Is he an honest communicator?
A: No

His behavior is well known, not just within Oracle but throughout the industry. This is hardly rocket science. Managers below him behave more or less the same way.

I wonder when you accepted a job at Oracle whether you ever considered what it would be like working for the guy... ?? If not then now you know.
