Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Any input?

Just requesting an input, not a legal one. I am remote for more than 10 years, 100% care giver for my mom , mom is 90 and moved with us. We don’t believe in nursing homes. I do my job very well and take care of Mom, can Fiserv compels me to RTO. I have no office near me, the nearest is 5 hours drive? Mom is my dependent . I can prove it to Fiserv, by showing my taxes, her address in her ID. Any thoughts?

I have been with the company for 20 years, I cannot move at this time due to my caregiving responsibilities.

Sorry, the goons leading fiserv do not and will not care about you nor your situation. Fiserv leadership is incapable of caring for anything else but themselves.

I wish you and your Mother the best.

Look for another job that allows WFH.

Unfortunately your days are numbered. They don’t care about your responsibilities or life. Your years of service mean nothing to them. They will use your you train your younger and cheaper replacement. I’m speaking from experience.

You could ask your manager for an ADA exception. If your immediate manager approves, you will be granted the exception within a week and off any list. You will need to renew the exception I believe once every few months. Good luck!

I would look for an alternate job. Unfortunately if push comes to shove they can fire you irrespective of your circumstances

Eventually there will be no more remote employees at Fiserv. Best to get yourself prepared.

They can't force you to move, they can only say you will no longer be employed if you do not move.

Current policy (subject to Frank's whims) is that employees within a certain radius should commute to an office. You are well outside of that radius and would not be expected to commute.

The most populated office in my area is an office called 'Remote'. There are many remote employees in Fiserv, more than just you.

I am a caregiver for my spouse, 80, but retired from Frankserv. I would sit down with a lawyer first and prep for the argument. I am sorry but I cannot see the firm playing understanding in this one, so get your ducks all in a row and prepare to fight if you have too. I would also scour local job market in case you do need to change employment. Do not sign anything from Fiserv took. BTW it is not easy being a caregiver. Only one of me and I live a one-room life, that is one room away from my spouse in case she falls.
