Thread regarding Comcast layoffs

So who is holding the cards?

So obviously people know by now groups / individuals being impacted by the upcoming changes. What levels do we think know about these changes, who is actually making the decisions, and knows how this all plays out over the next few weeks?

VPs usually know months ahead. I can already tell because some of them have jumped ship - some internally, some externally.

@a3 look at where they’re currently reducing budget and contractor headcount, that will give you insight into areas/programs that the leadership views as less important. FTE reductions usually align back to the things that are getting cut.

Has management or the director level been formally notified at this point? My director stated they currently have no visibility into the specifics, aside from knowing that layoffs are imminent.

My assumption is that the circle is pretty small. McKinsey can help build the scenarios, analyze the data and pressure test the options, with a limited group of internal leaders providing inputs most likelyunder NDA. But ultimately, the major restructuring decisions sit with the CEO/C-suite and, where required, the Board. That would also explain why most of the organization isn’t hearing much until leadership is ready to communicate something publicly or to Wall Street.
