Just remember, Christopher is better than the people who load the vending machines, back when we had stuff in the vending machines. He is better than other people who put in hard days' work. Don't go mixing him up with one of them.
Did we send the DEI hires to Greenland yet?
@kr
The best employees cost more than under performers. That argument is essentially saying fire everyone who gets good merit raises because they cost more than underperformers who get paltry raises.
"Are they discriminating against specifically against race and gender or against those who cost more? I’m sure there’s a blurred line between those two thin"

Try to remember that globally white men are only 10% -15% (depending on your definition of mixed race) of the global population. And, for the last 40 years more women than men have graduated with college degrees. So, those white men are definitely a minority; but, in a competitive environment based on merit they do tend to outperform and occupy the top spots. But conversely, on the other end of the spectrum they also dominate the most dangerous and dirty jobs too.
It is a shame that DEI does not extend beyond airconditioned safe places or to countries that do not have a large white population.
Have you heard of an imperative to hire white people in Japan or China or India?
Because HR illegally discriminates. Universe will balance with the following.
Apo production declines to 77,000 bopd
Perdido production declines to 51,000bopd
Stones production declines to 8000bopd…
This will balance any wrong doing…subject to downward revisions…2028 is going to be a very tough year for GoA Shell
Are they discriminating against specifically against race and gender or against those who cost more? I’m sure there’s a blurred line between those two things
Shell HR have zero accountability! And they hate White men over 45…prove me wrong
Shell leadership has aggressive DE&I targets, which are reflected on their GPAs. Rank employees for performance and ... no wait, just hire and promote DE&I candidates, much simpler in the current environment.
I say we send all the DEI hires to Greenland.
@ar yep many of the reorgs have used DEI quotas and not usually placed the most qualified individuals in roles and I’ve heard it still happening currently. It is just kind of laughable to rank roles knowing it doesn’t really matter as the leadership will pick whoever they want no matter the experience.
Yes. I like the one where they hired unskilled DEI people over white men at woodcreek and gave them, in their own words. “white male tear jars” as parting gifts.
DEI people are super bold these days. It’s very sad that Shell has decided to be one of the last few companies on Earth embracing their racism.
Shell probably hasn’t even read that yet, as they are already entangled in 2-3 discrimination lawsuits. Those outcomes will be very interesting. Having previously worked in HR, not shocked by any of it. With more reorganizations on the horizon, may see more filed. DE&I is coming back to bite them.
