I went from really liking my job to dreading it. And it happened in six years I've been here, which is not that long for such a drastic change.

No class action case is there to be had. You CAN, on the other hand, go work somewhere else. I would imagine that a person who claims they're doing the work of 3 or more is much more valuable than CVX is paying, right?
@e5 yes. Class action. Workload of f 3 or more fte’s for one. Unreasonable and unsustainable. CFO and ceo are to blame
@m0
True… but at least I can fish.
@jh - Deep thoughts from the terminal pessimist.
Maybe that's why you're in the predicament that you're in.
@hz
“Give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish… he’ll teach his friends how to fish… then they’ll overfish the resource into irreversible decline, and then there are no more fish.
And everyone starves. The end.”
F*** that guy.
@hw the only ones who falsely think and are triggered that someone else is getting more handouts than them are pathetic socialist losers.
A deal to create jobs and infrastructure for tax rebates in a corporate arrangement (less tax, but still a lot) is not "socialism" in case you are truly ignorant, and not touting a narrative (more likely)_ but I'm sure you already knew that.
You likely would prefer less progress and stagnation.
Socialism. Study it. Look it up. All of it's features and failures.
There are no secrets
@dq
It is the ENGINES that do the down votes becuase they are mad the USA employees make more money.
@df
I agree with you and we cannot take the time of if we have that "aneurysm". :(
@cg "capitalism and the free market" would be great but we have corporate socialism in the USA now.
Uhh, yea, lol good luck with your claim of being forced to actually do your job instead of slacking all day like Covid times. What a darn shame it is to have to work for a living.
@dp Time for class action
yes when no one likes my comments I always blame HR also
HR doing their downvotes. This company is so spineless they can’t even take criticism
agree. This company is breaking people mentally. I know several who had to go on leave very recently because of the ridiculous workload. We’ve all raised our voices, but leadership says we have to fix it. Next step is the legal route. What options do we have left?
@df thousand percent agree. We aren’t stupid, we KNOW this is a business designed to make money. But they used to go through the effort of putting lipstick on the pig. Now we have MW on a call challenged about retirement age and he basically looked at the camera and said “I’m here forever, losers. Fygm”. Zero respect for everyone without even an effort to fake it.
@OP A few factors come to mind; chief among them is the lack of ethics of our top leaders. MW has repeatedly straight up lied. Even on recorded Teams calls. That alone should tell you something; he does not fear repercussions because nobody, and certainly not the BOD, is holding him accountable for destroying what used to be a source of pride: our company culture.
Second, not only do they not care about us; they can’t even be bothered to PRETEND to care. I mean, for FFS, At least fake it! I have personally observed employees go out on sick leave, and managers putting pressure on them to return or disrupting time those employees should spend recuperating. It is truly revolting to witness such abuses of power, especially when delivered against employees who are in a weakened or vulnerable state.
I’m going to stop here before I have an aneurysm.
A Chevron guy with first-hand experience. I would take their word for it!
@d5 "I truly laughed" makes propaganda seem so real, I really believe it now!
It's cute you think we have capitalism and free markets here. I truly laughed.
Absolutely horrific toxic environment everyday is a complete slog. Zero trust within the organization run by some of the most incompetent people I’ve ever seen in my career. I don’t even know what my job really is anymore went from being an engineer to some sort of strange admin. Getting abused daily
@ch, i feel yo pain little gurl, if i was there u would give you a hug, sister! don't cry and bless yo sweet lil heart gurl
@cg lame comparison. Your type always runs to butthurt comments. Look, you can give up and throw in the towel all you want. Others are man/woman enough to stay and fight. Don’t get offended because others have more guts than you do. Beeyatch
@bx Apples and Oranges. Your employment is a business contract and there are many other options. And you are also free to move to another country if you don't care for capitalism and the free market.
If you need to fix your house, that's your own personal problem, why would you whine to others about it?
Since you obviously think your own family are je-ks, I feel your pain my butthurt brothuh
@br well then stfu.
Let’s apply that logic to anything you have an issue with.
Your country is not being run the way you like it? Well then, leave the country.
Your house needs repairs? Well then, get e new house.
Your family is annoying you? Well then, get a new one.
Brother/sister, you are a je-k
"social contract" LMAO. That's cute.
Because the focus is on total shareholder rewards. Chevron is just following in the way of other major companies, it's no longer about having a social contract with its employees along with earning a fair return. It is about maximizing returns without guaranteeing somebody a lifelong career Chevron. I don't think that's unusual to our company, I just think it's the way of the world now. Younger employees would be wise not to be loyal to their employer, and instead look for opportunities to grow their skills wherever they can, even if that means not staying at Chevron.
Senior leadership needed more compensation
Heeeeee’s back
