After working with united as a doctor and as a patient this is the worst company on either side of the deal and I will not do business with them again.

@dz no they don’t, hence the reason a lot of them have a list at checkout/check in counter!

@jy someone told me United is the Wells Fargo of the medical world and I can't disagree.

Don't blame them at all
United is terrible to deal with despite all the PR fluff the company puts out.

It seems like there are less providers accepting DSNP coverage

The company is increasingly perceived as corrupt in the public arena, with numerous initiatives aimed at accelerating claim denials and making the appeals process more difficult. It is surprising that they have not yet faced a lawsuit severe enough to shut down multiple departments.

@dz Obviously there are many medical groups that don't accept UnitedHealth. They have learned it is not worth the hassel to deal with them.

@dz lots of Dr's don't accept certain insurances. They won't file claims.

@cc+1m2rr9vzh, It's with medical too. For some reason, when I enrolled this year, they said I only enrolled myself in medical, not my child, despite successfully enrolling my child in other coverage. I discovered this when it was past the deadline. When I appealed, they rejected coverage! And yes they only accept snail mail or fax, and only externally communicate via snail mail. If you call employee benefits, they have no access to see details, they can only tell you if it's pended or a decision was made. What kind of insurance company doesn't cover their employees children?! My underage child just had a severe medical crisis which is now paid out of pocket and impacting my ability to work. They are true geniuses, withholding coverage from children, especially when it impacts their own employees productivity 🤦🏼‍♀️

Why answer this troll? No one at a health insurance company would phrase a question this way. Doctors “accept” every insurance, but they only participate with some.

@OP Yes, especially dental. And the medical claims are being denied at an alarming rate. To add insult to injury you have to print and MAIL your appeal form in. I have been told repeatedly there is no portal or email to send appeals in to. Only snail mail. Unbelievable.

How would I know? I try to stay as healthy as possible, so I only need to pay my 10K in employee contributions and the 4K deductible. Healthcare has turned into a SHAKEDOWN

Yes. In Housecalls it is a frequent complaint by members that physicians, medical groups are dropping UHC.
