Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

What is the selection process for layoff?

Obviously manager won’t select him self and his friends and people who support his consultancy.
Only people who he feel threat to him?

Here Managers here don’t have basic knowledge of current tech but ready to build AI agent just by recruiting consultants and show case them as they invented AI.

Selection criteria is simple: If you work in a high cost location (NY/NJ, London. Singapore, HK, Tampa/Jacksonville), are a C14/C15, and are not working on a regulatory, M&A, next gen tech platform, or other key projects, you will get released.

@af Sounds like systemic cultural nepotism which remains unaddressed and deeply entrenched, reinforced by a rigid social hierarchy that resists any meaningful reform. Those who exit are simply relieved to escape the toxic blame and caste culture.

@ag until you are the one impacted....

@af Your MAGA racism and racial grievance is boring. Look at yourself in the mirror your inadequacy is what makes you redundant , not the color of your skin.

1.You are a citizen of the country where you work, but the company is actively replacing locals with cheaper foreign workers under loophole exceptions.

  1. You speak a different language and belong to a different tribe or caste than your boss, making you an outsider to their preferred group.
  2. Outside consultants do all the heavy lifting while you are left doing meaningless paperwork to justify your paycheck.
  3. You have no family members or childhood friends in the executive office to protect your job when the cuts begin.
