Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

Pearson - where "leaders" are hypocrites and liars

Its so laughable when Pearson.jobs site has this on its home page. The very first line is a big fat lie. They don't value their people. In fact, they removed their entire DEI page when the new administration came to power.
My advise to Pearson management - Don't claim what you cannot stand by, its not hard lest you are labelled as a RAT.

Our Culture
We value the well-being of our people. That's why, for most roles, we offer flexibility in how and where we work—be it from home, an office, or during non-traditional hours. You can help us build a culture where everyone—regardless of what they look like, where they come from, or what they believe—has the capability to unlock new skills and claim new opportunities.

Code of conduct request made me laugh. Omar’s word salad about acting with credibility.

Hired his mates, lies through his teeth to employees alongside them, and achieved nothing. AI has saved him.

They are running out of time. I expect a big shake up to the business units to make things look like they’re working to Investors

I’ve been here 20 years, it is crazy that the best CEO has been John Fallon by a million miles - that is how fu---d we are.

All the top positions are filled by lily white individuals. Always has been, always will be and there's nothing we can do to change that.

Don’t you know they’re meeting their DEI targets anyway by offshoring everything all the roles and work. Between AI and offshore workers - wonder how well that’s going.

In editorial in stock dates were delayed because we were asked to remove any language the current administration does not want used.

Now get back to filling in your Engagement survey - and make it positive, so that 'Leadership' gets their bonuses ... :-0

@d7 credly website, which was previously a major part of DEI initiatives, was completely scrubbed of any mention of it. Super under the table of course. When the highest up person on the legal team direct messages someone low on the totem pole, you know it’s suspicious.

Icing on the cake was when they actually deactivated accounts in sanctioned countries. Cause that’s what the worlds leading learning company would do!

Yep, they just folded, I remember having to (reluctantly) remove DEI from one of our smaller sites. Most companies had the cojones to stand their ground, but not us; we have to keep the spray tan dictator happy, even if it's for sites on the other side of the world.
