I have had this experience. Told the obvious truth and was reprimanded for not being a team player. They wanted to keep the lie alive so they could be promoted. Company spends a lot of money, time, and effort keeping lies alive so that the chosen ones can be promoted. We would be much more profitable if they would quit working on these lies.

They hate outspoken people. My teammate challenged a useless principal’s proposed approach, and he did everything he could to push her out. They just want a purple heart for pretending to care.
2 plus 2 equals 5. Exxon is big brother. If you fight it you will be labeled a thought criminal. I fought it and was fired. Exxon is afraid of the truth. Exxon doesn't want the dysfunction, inept employees, and stupid lcs and ideas known to the public. I was once part of an investor meeting for the proxima disaster. The lies that were told that day made me sick.
What do you expect? We now have a culture where ‘my version of the truth’ is a perfectly accepted concept. We can thank the president for that one.
