The company I joined years ago feels like a completely different place now. Everyone seems exhausted, and the constant threat of discipline has people scared to do anything wrong. I've got a master's degree in a field that's usually in demand, but I've applied for 14 jobs and barely gotten any response. I'd leave too if I could find somewhere to go.

The Citi I joined is long gone. Now manage through fear and intimidation.
@a3 in two years watch Jane jump ship with her Golden parachute. She won't face any charges for the illegal things she's done, but she should! She has su-ked up to the current administration when all other banks ran as far away as they could. She's gonna leave Citi in one heck of a mess that they may not survive.
Be ethical and do the right thing. Dont worry about the discipline part. Its instilling fear to cover for dirty laundry that certain people don't want you to know or forget or not speak about what you know. There is a ton of unethical practices across tech and business units, that Citi is covering up. They dont want the regulators / authorities to know. Majority of the Who at the top is where the problem is.
Citi in NY like being on the show Cheers after all the old characters left. It ain't funny and nobody watches anymore.
