On a scale from "mildly incompetent" to "couldn't pour water out of a boot with the instructions on the heel."

@OP Mine is lazy AF. Likes coffee chats and chocolate
Rate posters on this site. I’ll start. They are losers who I pray don’t actually work for the company. And if they do, PIP their A.
Nearly all of my managers have been good. Competent and genuinely nice people (this is around 10 different direct managers). Stayed late to help out with deadlines. Helped shoulder the burden. Etc. It’s the levels above I’ve had issues with.
My boss is good (rarity at Exxon), the system and Execs are toxic.
@aw Yep. They're not looking to help you though. Their whole job is reporting to their boss about what you're doing, who then provides an update to the next level and so on..... Such a waste of time and money. I'd be so much more productive without having to participate in this farce.
TBH mine is a really decent guy, down to earth not like the typical Exxon a--hole
Very few decent people in the company, majority are a--holes
My supervisor is constantly pestering me for updates. It is one of the reasons I am interviewing for a new job. I can’t take the micromanaging. I do not need a weekly one in one just to tell you what I am doing. If I need your help I will tell you. If you need something from me tell me. Ugh.
@af I agree. If you eliminate 80% of managers who are just “speedbumps” and simplify the silly annual PADP process, you would never know their gone.
Mine is competent but unnecessary. Wayyyy too much middle management. They could eliminate 3 layers and not be missed.
My boss is so pitiful he can’t even get promoted to Spring.
Really. Won’t somebody take this loser off our hands?
